  • Patent number: 10117116
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, monitoring a control plane of a service provider network including messages that facilitate network access by local equipment to subscribed services. A data plane managed by the network and separate from the control plane is also monitored. The data plane facilitates an exchange of user data between the connected devices, the network and the subscribed services. Local equipment are identified based on the monitoring of the control plane, and local network connectivity is established between the processing system and the local equipment. A common communication channel is established between the processing system and the network, wherein network access to the subscribed services is based on an exchange of the user data via the common communication channel. • Patent number: 10104579
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) and a flexible protocol data unit (PDU) packaging method thereof are provided. The user equipment performs a flexible PDU packaging procedure in a radio link control (RLC) layer when receiving configuration information that configures a 7-bit length indicator (LI) size and a flexible PDU size from a base station. The user equipment uses an exactly-filled LI to indicate the end of a service data unit (SDU) occurring at the end of the previous one PDU and an accumulated SDU size of the previous one PDU exceeds 123 octets. In addition, the user equipment utilizes a special value of a header extension (HE) field or an alternative E-bit of the header to indicate that the PDU includes only one SDU and the SDU is a complete SDU.

  • Patent number: 10098066
Abstract: The embodiments of the disclosure include methods and apparatus that provide back-off procedures for avoiding device/network resource depletion in bad network conditions. A device user may selectively enable an auxiliary back-off procedure that extends the time between network service requests. For example, the auxiliary back-off procedure may be used if the device determines an attach request is unsuccessful when a reject message is received from the network and the reject message indicates a reject cause for which the device has no defined back-off to follow. The auxiliary back-off procedure may be also be used if the device determines that a service request is unsuccessful when the service request is ignored, i.e. no response is received from the network, or, when a service request reject is received from the network and the reject message indicates a reject cause for which the device has no defined back-off to follow.

  • Patent number: 10079672
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for performing full-duplex communications using a G.hn protocol are provided. A second node of a plurality of nodes is selected, by a first node with which to engage in full-duplex communications. A first seed common to the plurality of nodes is retrieved. A search is performed for a second seed assigned to the second node. A first portion of a frame is generated for transmission using a half-duplex communications mode, wherein transmissions using the half-duplex communications mode are detectable by each of the nodes. A first group of subcarriers is loaded with the first set of phases generated using the first seed and a second group of subcarriers is loaded with the second set of phases generated using the second seed. The first portion is transmitted, in the half-duplex communications mode, from the first node using the first and second groups of subcarriers.

  • Patent number: 10080127
Abstract: A first communication terminal, unconnected with a communication network, searches for a second communication terminal existing around the own communication terminal. In the communication network, one of communication terminals functions as a master having a function of an access point and the rest of the communication terminals function as slaves of the master. Among the one or more second communication terminals found through the search, the first communication terminal determines a second communication terminal, in which information included in a communication message received from the second communication terminal shows that it is a connected master terminal which is a terminal connected with the communication network and functions as the master, to be a connection counterpart. Then, the first communication terminal configures a network with the determined connection counterpart.

  • Patent number: 10075778
Abstract: An integrated base station provides uplink and downlink wireless connectivity between user equipment and a wireless communication network. In order to accommodate certain features of the network, a bypass switch of the integrated base station is employed so that the baseband module of the base station is bypassed as to those features. In this case, selected data obtained from the RF transceiver of the integrated base station is processed by equipment in the back end system instead of by the baseband module. A first operation mode enables the baseband module to process the selected data, while a second operation mode bypasses the baseband module so that the back end system performs the processing. The bypass switch may be permanently activated. The bypass process allows for processing of the selected data in an efficient manner without requiring replacement of the integrated base station, thereby providing an efficient and cost-effective solution.
