  • Patent number: 9455893
Abstract: Methods and systems for multimedia messaging service (MMS) authentication over IP networks are disclosed. An access identifier records message corresponding to a user by a multimedia messaging service center (MMSC) forwarded by a server is received. Data from the access identifier records message including a mobile directory number, a framed IP address, access network information and a session ID is extracted and stored in a cache accessible to the MMSC. Network IP authentication is executed to determine that the user has a valid IP address. Client IP authentication of the user is executed to determine that the valid IP address is stored in the cache. A correspondence between the valid IP address and a mobile directory number of the user is determined. The user is authenticated for MMS over the IP network based on the correspondence.

  • Patent number: 9429647
Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a system and method for. classifying Wi-Fi signals from Fourier transform samples. Generally, classifying Wi-Fi signals from Fourier transform samples includes: collecting and dividing Fourier transform samples into frequency blocks; determining the bandwidth for the Fourier transform sample; and determining whether the Fourier transform sample corresponds to a narrowband signal. Further, if a determination is made that the Fourier transform sample does not correspond to a narrowband signal, channel utilization is calculated based on a determination that the FFT sample corresponds to a Wi-Fi signal. If it is determined that the Fourier transform sample corresponds to a narrowband signal, then a determination is made that the FFT sample corresponds to a Wi-Fi signal based on certain criteria. The certain criteria may include one or more of a slope value, a number of sub-peak bins, an analysis of adjacent channels, characteristic matching, or other criteria.

  • Patent number: 9426618
Abstract: A method and mechanism to allow a location server to initiate a user plane location service (e.g., SUPL defined by OMA) procedure to a user plane enabled device via Instant Messaging, or alternatively, via an existing SIP session if a multimedia session is already established. The location request is signaled to the user plane enabled device via a SIP INFO message. The location request uses SIP messaging to overcome firewall and other network security issues. Location using SUPL over SIP may be provided about a caller making an E911 emergency call. An Instant Message may be sent to the user plane enabled device, e.g., a VoIP wireless phone.

  • Patent number: 9419777
Abstract: Multiple wireless devices in a network perform full duplex communication in which the transmission path and receiving path are spatially separated to allow simultaneous transmission and receiving. The wireless devices can either be controlled using a centralized, or point, coordination function or a distributed coordination function. A full-duplex wireless device senses the medium during transmission by itself and selectively continues the transmission when a signal is sensed on the medium. A full-duplex wireless device measures signal being transmitted by its transmitter and estimates parameters that can be used to cancel the contribution of the locally transmitted signal to the locally received signal concurrently being received during the transmission. The transmit antenna and the receive antenna of a full-duplex wireless device can be configured to be spatially isolated from each other to minimize interference between the antenna functions.

  • Patent number: 9397818
Abstract: A radio base station communicates with mobile terminals and is configured to be able to execute radio transmission to the mobile terminals using resources that are the same as resources used by a second radio base station forming a second cell having a smaller area within a first cell formed by the radio base station itself and is configured to collaborate with the second radio base station for inter-cell interference control. The radio base station sets a modulation system having a modulation level that is less than that of the modulation system provisionally determined as the modulation system for mobile terminals to which a resource group having a low transmission power is assigned and adjusts transmission parameters in a case in which the modulation system provisionally determined for the mobile terminals to which the resource group having the low transmission power is assigned, is inappropriate for the low transmission power.

  • Patent number: 9386503
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to systems, methods and computer program products for routing traffic in a packet data network (PDN). A method includes determining whether the mobile device has an active long-lived data traffic session over an original PDN connection between the mobile device and a first PDN gateway (P-GW); if the mobile device has an active long-lived data traffic session, then routing any new long-lived data traffic session over the original PDN connection; and if the mobile device does not have an active long-lived data traffic session, then routing any new long-lived data traffic session over a location-based PDN connection established based at least in part on a current location of the mobile device. In other words, the mobile device initiates and maintains all long-lived data sessions (for which service continuity is essential) to only one PDN connection.
