Abstract: This application discloses a technology for guiding a person to prepare foods at a food preparation station. The food preparation station has a plurality of food pans. The technology may track location changes of the food pans or ingredients contained in the food pans, and indicating the current location of an ingredient when needed. The technology monitors a dish being prepared, and provides a step-by-step guidance according a predetermined recipe.

Abstract: Techniques for reducing piracy of media content are described. In some embodiments, a collusion resistant method is performed at a device, where the device receives a first request for a base copy of a media content item. In response, the device determines a first transformation based on a statistical performance criterion and a viewing performance criterion. The device further generates a first copy of the media content item by replicating and applying a first transformation to the base copy, where the first copy of the media content item satisfies the viewing performance criterion, and the first copy of the media content item is statistically different from the base copy or other copies in accordance with the statistical performance criterion. The device then causes transmission of the first copy of the media content item in combination with a first watermark for the base copy of the media content item.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for cross-device interaction, the method comprising: intercepting a triggering event by a mobile client application program; employing a low energy communication monitoring service adapted for searching at least one universally unique identifier advertised by a low energy communication advertisement service configured to enable retrieval of a content identifier associated with content received from a server and being displayed by a television client application program, retrieving using the at least one universally unique identifier the content identifier, and providing the content identifier to the mobile client application program; and, responsive to receiving notice on intercepting a user interaction event by a user interaction event listener, presenting by the mobile client application program an information item retrieved using the content identifier provided.

The method includes receiving an event from the event recordation and distribution system, determining that an event consumer that is a subscriber of an event stream of the event has specified filter logic for the event stream, and forwarding the event to an event consumer in response to the event meeting requirements of the specified filter logic.

Abstract: Systems and methods address shortcomings in conventional systems by resuming a media asset from a logical point. In some aspects, the systems and methods receive a first input at a first time from a user to pause a media asset at a first position and a second input at a second time from the user to resume the media asset. The systems and methods further determine whether a time period between the first and the second time exceeds a threshold time period. In response to determining that the time period does not exceed the threshold time period, the systems and methods generate the media asset for display beginning at the first position. However, in response to determining that the time period exceeds the threshold, the systems and methods generate the media asset for display beginning at a second position preceding the first position.

The method may include: determining at least two video clips from a video; for each video clip, perform following excitement determination steps: inputting a feature sequence of a video frame in the video clip and title information of the video into a pre-established prediction model to obtain a relevance between the inputted video frame and a title of the video; and determining an excitement of the video clip, based on the relevance between the video frame in the video clip and the title; and determining a target video clip from the video clips, based on the excitement of each of the video clips.

Abstract: In some implementations, a first device can record a display screen of a second device remotely. For example, the first device (e.g., a remote computing device) can receive information identifying other computing devices on a network. The first device can receive a selection of one of the other computing devices (e.g., the second device) and send a message to the second device to initiate a recording of the display screen of the second device. In response to receiving the message, the second device can record video frames of images presented on the display of the second device. The second device can send the video frames to the first device for display and/or storage. While recording the images presented on the display screen, the second device can present indicia on the display screen of the second device indicating that a screen recording is in progress.

Abstract: Advertisement preparation methods and systems are shown and disclosed. In one embodiment, the method includes reviewing metadata of an advertisement. The metadata includes duration information for the advertisement, and determining actual duration of the advertisement. The method additionally includes determining whether the duration information matches the actual duration of the advertisement, and editing the advertisement when the duration information does not match the actual duration such that the actual duration of the edited advertisement matches the duration information.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a method receives a request for supplemental content to be displayed in a break of a video being played using a first instance of an application at a first client device. An account is associated with the first instance of the application. A plurality of contact options is retrieved for the account and ranked. The method outputs the plurality of pull notification options to the first client device based on the plurality of contact options where the plurality of pull notification options are displayed during the break. A pull notification option causes a pull notification to be sent to a second instance of the application running on a second client device and the pull notification is configured to be output by the second instance of the application on the second client device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing user generated and curated video content streaming on-demand to facilitate and incentivize digital competition are provided. Information regarding challenges to be electronically displayed at a platform are associated with tags, and video clips uploaded in response which are associated with the tags of the challenge. The video clips are formatted and made available for electronic interaction by fans at the platform. Certain of said video clips are selected for incorporation into highlight reels. Advertising is inserted into the highlight reels and payments are disbursed to content generators associated with the video clips in the highlight reels for which payment is received.

Abstract: Systems and methods presented herein provide for intelligent routing of requests for insertion of advertisements into content. A network element, communicatively coupled to content distributers and to advertisement decision servers (ADSs), is operable to receive a Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) 130-3 request from a content distributer for advertisements to be inserted into a content selection. In response to receiving the SCTE 130-3 request, the network element communicates a request for advertisements to the ADSs, receives advertisements from each, determines a number of advertisement opportunities in the content selection, determines values of the advertisements from the ADSs, selects a portion of the advertisements from the ADSs that fulfills all of the advertisement opportunities in the content selection and that provides the most value, and combines the selected portion of the advertisements from the ADSs in a response to the content distributer for insertion into the content.
