  • Patent number: 7503568
Abstract: The invention features a soft foam sled board for use by a sitting or kneeling rider to slide over a snow or ice covered surface. The sled is prepared from a shaped polyethylene foam core, and at least the bottom surface of the core is covered by a slick, polyethylene film/polyethylene foam sheet laminate which provides little frictional resistance between the sled board and sliding surface, and provides an impervious outer surface to the board so as to resist puncture and water infiltrate. The sled board has one or more rails, ribs, or fins embedded below the body weight of the rider so as to either protrude from, or jut into, the board. The fins enhance the ability of the sled board to travel down the hill in a straight, forward direction.

  • Patent number: 7494148
Abstract: A binding, in particular a snowboard binding comprises a base plate; a heel-cradling element; a toe-cradling element; an instep-strapping arrangement having a long part connected to one side of the base plate and a short side part connected to the other side; a closure device for the instep-strapping arrangement; and a flexible linkage connecting the closure device of the instep-strapping arrangement and the toe-cradling element. In an open position the toe-cradling element is free to move, and in a closed position the flexible linkage pulls the toe-cradling element, so the foot is secured between the toe-cradling element, the heel-cradling element and the instep-strapping arrangement. In this closed position the held-together parts of the instep-strapping arrangement hold a foot securely by forces acting between these parts through the closure device, independently of the need to maintain tension in the flexible linkage.

  • Patent number: 7494144
Abstract: A support device for use in supporting a person on the side a vehicle extends from the side of a vehicle below the main body thereof and has a support member, which is clamped at one end to the vehicle frame. A step unit is attached to the other end of the support member. A panel for supporting the person is attached to the step unit. The support member has a pair of opposing rods at the end attached to the vehicle frame, these rods running along the opposite sides of the vehicle frame. The rods are clamped to the frame by bolts. The support member has a pair of arms which run at right angles to each other and a third arm running angularly between the pair of arms to form a triangular configuration. One of said pair of arms forms one of the rods running along the side of the vehicle frame. The step unit is attached to the end of the other one of the pair of arms. This attachment is made to permit pivotal movement of ninety degrees of the step relative to the other one of the pair of arms.

  • Patent number: 7490859
Abstract: A binding for a boot includes a platen (4) which is manually mountable to a snowboard in a selected angular position. The platen includes a central hole (4a) and a circular array of upwardly facing teeth (4c). A base (9), mounted to the snowboard, has a spindle (16) and locking arms (16a, 16?a) which extend through the platen central hole. A central pivot body (5) includes a circular peripheral surface (5a) and downwardly projecting teeth (5b) which interact with the central hole and teeth of the platen. Ramping cam elements (8d, 8?d) on a locking disk engage the locking arms and progressively clamp the pivot body to progressively press the teeth of the pivot body against the teeth of the platen to prevent rotation. A clamp (22) having cam ends (22a, 22?a) is pivotal between a vertical release position which permits the central locking disk to rotate and a flat position which locks the central locking disk against rotation.

  • Patent number: 7487975
Abstract: The quad parabolic snowmobile ski is an elongated body having a top side, a bottom side, a tip at the front end, a rear end, a pair of symmetrically opposed ski parabolic cutting edges disposed longitudinally along the bottom of the ski, and a keel. The keel is attached to the bottom of the ski and has a central median ridge, i.e., a keel rail, a substantial portion of which protrudes below the bottom of the ski to form a central and longitudinal point of contact with the snow. The keel defines symmetrically opposed snow-funneling channels along the opposite sides of the central median ridge. Varying radii of curvature of the channels form parabolically-shaped channel outer sidewalls. Symmetrically opposed keel parabolic cutting edges are formed by contouring a keel body width to follow the contour of the parabolic shaped outer sidewalls at a constant cutting edge width.

  • Patent number: 7475889
Abstract: A combination of two folding lounge chairs and a cooler which, in a folded form, acts as a compact lightweight unit for ease of portability. The chairs are folded and connected to the back of the cooler and interlocked with each other to form a compact unit until ready for sitting. In the folded position, the chair frames act as handles for pulling the cooler, which rolls along on a set of wheels. In the expanded position the two chairs swing out on hinges from the back of the cooler, one unfolding to the right side and the other unfolding to the left side in a sitting position. The entire combination of chairs and cooler is constructed of strong but lightweight materials so that the entire assembly, when folded, forms a compact, portable unit that can be easily rolled on wheels by one person.
