  • Patent number: 9645597
Abstract: A floating output power supply includes circuitry for indirectly sensing an output current and output voltage of the floating output power supply. The circuitry includes a circuit ground referenced current sensing resistor placed in between diodes forming one leg of a full wave rectifier. The voltage of this current sensing resistor is circuit ground referenced and representative of an output current of the floating output power supply. A resistive network is coupled between a negative output and a positive output of the floating output power supply. The resistive network includes a circuit ground referenced resistor whose voltage is representative of the output voltage of the floating output power supply. A controller of the floating output power supply determines output voltage, current, and/or power from these sensed voltages and currents and adjusts an operating parameter of an input power supply as a function of the determined output voltage, current, and/or power.

  • Patent number: 9645599
Abstract: The present invention provides a power-supply management device which can efficiently connect and disconnect power supply to an electric-powered section, and a machine tool including the power-supply management device. The power-supply management device (101) detects a synchronization command of a control program, and compares an operation time of the electric-powered section between synchronizations in each control system which is a synchronization target by the synchronization command on the basis of the detected synchronization command. Then, the power-supply management device (101) disconnects the power supply to the electric-powered section belonging to the control system except the control system having the maximum operation time of the electric-powered section between the synchronizations, and restarts the power supply at the end of the synchronization in each control system.

  • Patent number: 9524012
Abstract: An information handling system includes a power supply coupled to a processor that includes a plurality of cores. A power system controller is coupled to the power supply and the processor. The power system controller may set each of the plurality of cores to a performance state that is below a highest performance state. The power system controller may then determine whether the power supplied from the power supply to the processor during operation is sufficient to operate each of the plurality of cores at the highest performance state. In response to the power being insufficient to operate each of the plurality of cores at the highest performance state, the power system controller may control the plurality of cores such that a subset operate at the highest performance state and the remainder operate at a performance state that is lower than the highest performance state.
