  • Patent number: 4854070
Abstract: A self-setting fish hook is disclosed that is automatically set in the fish by contact with the fish, the setting of the hook requiring no action from the fisherman. The hook comprises a latch assembly that latches the fish hook into a first bent position. The bending of the fish hook into this first position causes a stress in a spring member that tends to bias the fish hook back towards its unbent position. The latch is easily releasable so that upon a slight mouthing by the fish the hook will become unlatched, and the spring bias will cause the hook to set in the fish.

  • Patent number: 4852212
Abstract: A set of hardware for mounting a hinged and slidable door (5) on a box unit of furniture (1 to 4) comprises hardware elements (8, 9, 18, 19, 20, 23, 25), which define a pivotal axis for mounting the door (5) and comprise slide track devices which are adapted to be mounted to extend parallel to the pivotal axis and to a wall (1) of the box and to guide the door (5) into the box when the door has been swung open. To permit a substantial use of commercially available, simple components and a simple adaptation of the hardware elements to doors differing in size, the slide track devices comprise two track rails (8, 9), which are adapted to be mounted so as to be spaced apart and to extend horizontally. A trolley (19, 20) is associated with each of the track rails and comprises rollers guided on bearing surfaces of the guide rails. The trolleys (19, 20) are adapted to be interconnected by a mounting plate (23) on that side of the rails which faces away from the wall (1) of the box.

  • Patent number: 4845880
Abstract: A casting rod provides a reel seat with trigger mechanism having a depending arm to fasten a first rearward end of an endless elastic propellant device. The second forward end of the elastic propellant device is carried by a depending arm of a stretching mechanism that is selectively positionable on the rod at plural points spacedly forward of the first depending arm. A fishing line carried in ordinary fashion by the rod is fastened to the propellant device and projected with it, responsive to trigger motion, to propel the fishing line in predetermined trajectory at a distance from the rod. The propellant device remains interconnected to the end portion of a fishing line to there serve as a float or sinker depending upon density of that propellant device.

  • Patent number: 4843678
Abstract: A novel caster pad attachable to the bottom of a receptacle and adapted to receive and hold a replaceable caster assembly has a rectangular base with a flange at each of its four edges. A pair of opposite flanges have a hole near each end of the opposite flanges, the holes in one flange being in alignment with the holes in the opposite flange. A U-shaped rod has arms which can enter the holes of one flange and extend out of the holes of the opposite flange so that the plate of a caster assembly can be captured between the base of the caster pad and the arms of the U-shaped rod. Locking devices are applied to the end of one or both arms to lock the U-shaped rod in place with its arms extending through the aligned holes.

  • Patent number: 4840305
Abstract: A method for vapor phase soldering components onto a PWB onto which solder has been previously deposited includes the steps of applying a fluxing agent on the PWB and introducing the PWB into a vapor phase environment. The application of flux is a multi-step process which includes a sequential application of flux to the PWB. The vapor phase environment defines a temperature gradient between approximately ambient and the temperature of a saturated vapor of a first selected fluid which defines a primary saturated vapor phase with a boiling point which is greater than the melting point of solder. A second fluid having a boiling point which is lower than the first fluid is utilized to generate a secondary vapor blanket in order to prevent excessive loss of the fluid defining the primary vapor phase. The PWB is heated according to a controlled process in which the temperature of the PWB is continuously monitored.

  • Patent number: 4839062
Abstract: A method and device for harvesting brine shrimp eggs, wherein the method comprises the steps of positioning a concentrating funnel slightly below the layer of brine shrimp eggs at the surface level of a body of salt water; moving the concentrating funnel forward with respect to the eggs to collect a portion of the layer and pumping the slurry mixture of eggs and salt water to a porous receiving container which passes the salt water and retains the collected brine shrimp eggs. A device for implementing this method includes a platform and attached channeling structure with a receiving end and a smaller, rearward feeding end. This channeling structure includes a height adjustment mechanism for selectively raising and lowering a forward leading edge of the channeling device to a depth just below the egg layer. Plumbing hardware is provided to transport the egg and salt water slurry to a container for receiving the eggs.
