    Abstract: A trim for a recessed light fixture includes a body open at its bottom end and having a top wall at its upper end. Formed in the top wall is a circular aperture and a pair of diametrically opposed slots spaced radially from the aperture. A lamp socket is mounted in the aperture such that a cylindrical lower portion of the socket extends through the aperture, and spring latches of the socket pass through respective ones of the slots. A gasket is interposed between the socket and top wall and is compressed within the aperture to create an air seal.

The nozzle body includes a first channel having a first inlet receiving air, a second inlet receiving fuel, an air and fuel mixing chamber communicating with the first and second inlets and for discharging an air and fuel mixture created within the air and fuel mixing chamber along a first flow path out from the nozzle body. The nozzle body further includes a first opening receiving air, a second opening receiving fuel, and an air and fuel combining chamber communicating with the first and second openings and an exit for discharging a second air and fuel mixture created in the air and fuel combining chamber along a second flow path out from the nozzle body. The second flow path intersects the first flow path at an impingement point in the combustion chamber to cause impingement of the mixtures carried along the first and second flow paths to create flame stability.

A junction box preferably formed of the same thermoplastic material is mounted to the pan assembly, access being gained to the interior of the box at opposite sides the box through positive latching doors which remain open to facilitate wiring operations within the box. The thermoplastic pan mounts adjustable bar hangers for rough-in of the downlighting assembly.

    Abstract: A burner structure and a method of operating a burner to reduce the pollutant emissions produced thereby are disclosed. Air and gas are premixed in a manner such that a substantially homogeneous mixture containing excess combustion air results. The velocity of the substantially homogeneous mixture is increased as it passes through the burner causing the "residence time" associated with the formation of the flame to be decreased, i.e., the combustion gases are in the reaction zone of the flame for a significantly shorter period of time, reducing the production of NO.sub.x. In order to prevent the flame from "lifting-off" the burner because of the high velocity of the substantially homogeneous air/gas mixture, flame stabilizing devices and/or a burner structure which provides flame stabilization are utilized resulting in the production of a high heat flux and low pollutant emissions.

The combustion device further has a temperature sensor for detecting a temperature at the combustion device and diagnosis means for performing a self-diagnosis to determine a ventilation condition based on a relationship between the revolution rate and the air-flow rate. The diagnostic means correct the detected revolution rate or the air-flow rate based on the temperature of the combustion device in the process of performing the self-diagnosis. The diagnosis means perform the self-diagnosis after a predetermined time has passed until there is no temperature variance in the combustion device since a combustion halts.

When the switching unit is used continuously in a dark place, the light source repeats cycles of a lighting period, in which the phosphorescent layer accumulates the energy of light, and a dark period, in which the phosphorescent layer emits phosphorescence by means of the accumulated energy, so that the power consumption for lighting the light source can be saved.

    Abstract: A cooking apparatus includes at least one atmospheric gas burner and mutually adjacent first and second component assemblies. A frame holds the first and second component assemblies and the first component assembly includes a continuous glass-ceramic cook plate defining a planar surface and having a breakthrough formed therein for holding the gas burner in the cook plate. The cook plate has a boundary edge facing toward the second component assembly. The cook plate and the second component assembly conjointly define a gap therebetween at the boundary edge sufficiently wide to permit an adequate supply of primary air to pass from the ambient to below the cook plate and to the gas burner. A device is mounted in the gap for guiding the primary air into the gap. The device is attached seal-tight to at least one of the component assemblies and extends above the planar surface to prevent liquid on the planar surface from entering the frame through the gap.
