Abstract: There are disclosed methods and compositions for the controlled release of microbiocides by using a mixture consisting of (a) a hydrolyzable organic titanium compound or a partial hydrolyzate thereof, (b) optionally an organopolysiloxane containing hydroxyl groups or a carbinol-containing polymer, and (c) a microbiocide.

Abstract: Aquatic herbicidal compositions including tetrahydrotriazine compounds as the active toxicant. The invention also covers a method for the control of aquatic plant life which method utilizes as the active ingredient a tetrahydrotriazine compound.

Abstract: It is disclosed that the known treatment of rice in cultivation with propanil to kill weeds without harming the growing rice plant can be modified so as to simultaneously eliminate the incidence of rice blast disease (which usually appears at the same time as weed infestation) by simultaneous treatment of the rice in cultivation with a combination of pentachloronitrobenzene and propanil, both applied from aqueous spray based on an emulsifiable concentrate of the material or materials.

Abstract: The invention relates to new compositions for increasing the cold resistance of cultivated plants. These compositions contain as active ingredient at least one compound of the general formula (I), ##STR1## wherein n is an integer of 2 to 5 and R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 each stand for hydrogen or C.sub.1-5 alkyl, or an acid addition salt thereof in an amount of 0.01 to 70% by weight, together with a conventional diluent and/or additive.The plants treated with the compositions according to the invention are more resistant to cold and frost.

Abstract: Herbicidally active thiocarbamates are employed in combination with N-methylthiocarbamylethyl-N'-carbamate having the formula ##STR1## In a typical application, the thiocarbamylethylcarbamate is included in sufficient quantity to lessen the rate of soil degradation of the thiocarbamate. As a result, the herbicidal effectiveness of the thiocarbamate is enhanced and prolonged, rendering a single application of the herbicide effective over a longer period of time.
