Abstract: Novel compositions for increasing the growth of vegetables comprising a growth increasing amount of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of a compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein either R.sub.1 is hydrogen, R.sub.2 is hydrogen and R.sub.3 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, nitro in the 2- or 4-position, methyl in the 2-, 3- or 4-position, chlorine in the 3- or 4-position and bromine or --CF.sub.3 in the 4-position or R.sub.2 is nitro in the 2 position and R.sub.3 is nitro or --CF.sub.3 in the 4 position or R.sub.1 is 2-NO.sub.2, R.sub.2 is 4-NO.sub.2 and R.sub.3 is 6-NO.sub.2 or R.sub.2 is 6-NO.sub.2 and R.sub.3 is 4-CF.sub.3 and their non-toxic, acid addition salts and an agricultural carrier and a method of increasing the growth of vegetables.

Abstract: The invention relates to oximes of the formula ##STR1## wherein n is 0, 1 or 2 and m is 0 or 1, and wherein Ar is a phenyl radical ##STR2## a naphthyl radical substituted by R.sub.2 and R.sub.3, a 5- to 10-membered heterocyclic radical which contains not more than 3 identical or different heteroatoms N, O and/or S, and which is substituted by R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 and can be substituted by oxo or thiono, or, if m is O, Ar is a radical R--CO--, wherein R is a radical --OR.sub.5, and Q is a radical C.sub.a H.sub.2a --R.sub.8, wherein a is an integer between 1 and 6, while R and R.sub.8 are as defined in the description of the specification. These compounds can be used for protecting plant crops from the action of aggressive agrochemicals.

Abstract: There are presented new diphenyl ether derivatives having a substituent selected from a halogen atom, a trifluoromethyl group and a methoxy group at the 4-position in one phenyl moiety, having optionally also halo-substituents at the 2- and 6-positions, and having a nitro group at the 4'-position and a substituent selected from an unsubstituted or substituted (1,3-dioxorane-4-yl)methoxy group, an unsubstituted or substituted (1,3-dioxa-5-cyclohexyloxy) group and an alkyl- or (substituted)amino-sulfonyloxy group at the 3'-position in the other phenyl moiety. They exhibit improved herbicidal effects on various weeds without any adverse phytotoxic effect on crops, e.g. rice seedlings.
Abstract: Herbicidal agents containing a composition of a 1H-2,1,3-benzothiadiazin-4(3H)-one-2,2-dioxide and N-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-N'-methoxy-N'-methylurea in a weight ratio of from 1:0.05 to 1:0.2. These agents are particularly suitable for combating unwanted plant growth in soybeans.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a class of novel 1-benzoyl-3-thiosemicarbazides which are useful as plant growth regulants. The present invention is also directed to methods and formulations for plant growth regulation.
Abstract: Flowable herbicidal compositions which contain an active component combination of at least one chlorotriazine and a chloroacetanilide form stable aqueous dispersions if the surfactant component of the composition consists of an anionic surfactant from the series of the mono- or diphosphoric acid esters of phenol polyglycol ethers and a mixture of two non-ionic surfactants from the series of the alkoxy, alkanoyloxy or phenol polyglycol ethers which differ by at least one glycol unit.
Abstract: This invention provides synergistic herbicidal compositions of glycolate and lactate esters of phenoxybenzoic acids with cyclohexonediones. These compositions are relatively safe to soybeans and have unexpected herbicidal effectiveness against broadleaf weeds such as velvetleaf.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a herbicidal composition which is a concentrated, oil/water emulsion formulation (CE). The concentrated emulsion formulations of the invention are particularly useful for formulating herbicidal agents which have a solution point in solvent at around 25.degree. C. or less, particularly 2-chloro-2',6'-diethyl-N-(methoxymethyl)acetanilide, N-(ethoxymethyl)-2'-trifluoromethyl-6'-methyl-2-chloroacetanilide and S-2,3,3-trichloroallyl diisopropyl thiocarbamate. Abstract: The invention describes gametocidal and microbicidal compositions which contain, as active ingredient, a nitroarylalkylsulfone derivative of the formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is alkyl, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, haloalkyl, halogen, cyano, nitro or amino or together they complete a naphthalene ring; R.sub.4 is hydrogen or --COR.sub.5, wherein R.sub.5 is alkyl, alkoxy, haloalkoxy, alkenyl, haloalkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl, benzyl, furyl or tetrahydrofuryl. Abstract: A selectively herbicidal composition of matter comprising a herbicidally effective amount of(i) 4-amino-6-tert.-butyl-3-ethylthio-1,2,4-triazin-5(4H)-one, and(ii) at least one ofS-2,3,3-trichloroallyl diisopropyl-thiolcarbamate,S-2,3-dichloroallyl diisopropyl-thiolcarbamate,1-amino-6-ethylthio-3-(2,2-dimethylpropyl)-1,3,5-triazine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione,1,2-dimethyl-3,5-diphenyl-pyrazolium methyl-sulphate,ethyl N-benzoyl-N-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-2-amino-propionate,isopropyl N-benzoyl-N-(3-chloro-4-fluorophenyl)-2-amino-propionate,methyl N-benzoyl-N-(3-chloro-4-fluorophenyl)-2-amino-propionate,methyl 2-[4-(2,4-dichlorophenoxy)-phenoxy]-propionate, andmethyl 2-chloro-3-(4-chlorophenyl)-propionate.Ingredient (i) above as well as the compositions are especially suited for selectively killing monocotyledon and dicotyledon weeds in the cultivation of cereals and leguminous plants.

Abstract: There is disclosed a method of treating soybeans with 1-triacontanol CH.sub.3 (CH.sub.2).sub.28 --CH.sub.2 OH, which produces a significant increase in yield. The method consists of applying a solution of "biologically active" 1-triacontanol at the proper: (1) stage of soybean plant maturity, (2) pH, (3) calcium content, (4) application rates and (5) number of applications; to attain a significant increase in yield. At least two foliar applied aqueous solutions of 1-triacontanol have been found to be effective.
Abstract: Solutions and formulations of pesticidal carbamates having a high carbamate content and which are stable in the long run, as during storage, and can be exposed to temperatures of from 0.degree. C. to 54.degree. C. without undergoing alterations, i.e., without forming precipitates, etc., are disclosed. The stable solutions or formulations comprise, besides the carbamates, a solvent A which can be DMF, DMA or a mixture of the two and a solvent B which is any solvent, or mixture of solvents, mixable with solvent A, with the exception of alcohols, acids and aliphatic hydrocarbons.
Abstract: Sulfur-containing oxime compounds of the formula I given herein are suitable for protecting cultivated plants against the phytotoxic action of aggressive agricultural chemicals, particularly herbicides. There are described methods for producing sulfur-containing oxime compounds of this type, and examples are given illustrating the application of these compounds.
