Abstract: Herbicidal compositions based on neburon.These are concentrated aqueous suspensions containing, in addition to neburon and the usual wetting, dispersing and thickening adjuvants, a stabilizer of the formula: ##STR1## in which: X, Y and Z are identical or different and are H, halogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl and R is C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkyl.The compositions can be used for selectively killing weeds in crops.
Abstract: When applied as safeners, the haloacylaminoalkylphosphinates, haloacylaminoalkylphosphinates and haloacylaminoalkylphosphine oxides of the formula I below are able to protect cultivated plants from the phytotoxic effects of herbicides. Abstract: Disclosed are derivatives of 3-aryl-5,6-dihydro-1,4,2-oxathiazines and their oxides for use as herbicides, fungicides, plant dessicants and defoliants in agricultural and biocidal applications. Also disclosed are methods of making these compounds.

Abstract: Phenylpyrimidines of the formula I as defined below are suitable as antidotes for protecting cultivated plants from phytotoxic effects caused by herbicides. These antidotes, either together with the herbicides or also by themselves, are applied to the plants or incorporated in the soil in which the plants grow, or they are used to treat the seeds of the plants. Suitable herbicides are those belonging to the class of the haloacetanilides, haloacetamides, thiocarbamates, carbamates, nitroanilides, triazines, phenylureas, haloacetic acids, phenoxy- and pyridyloxyphenoxyalkanecarboxylic acid derivatives, benzoic acid derivatives etc. The phenylpyrimidines have the formula I ##STR1## wherein for example, R.sub.1 and R.sub.3 are halogen.

Abstract: This invention relates to novel herbicidal compositions containing (i) a herbicidally effective amount of a herbicidal compound selected from atrazine [2-chloro-4-(ethylamino)-6-(isopropylamino)S-triazine] and cyanazine [2-chloro-4-(1-cyano-1-methylethylamino)-6-ethylamino-S-triazine] and (ii) an antidotally effective amount of an antidotal compound having the formula ##STR1## wherein R, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are as defined herein. This invention also relates to methods for protecting cotton plants from injury due to conventional herbicides and for the selective control of undesirable vegetation in cotton crops by application of the novel herbicidal compositions.

Abstract: A method for obtaining satisfactory weed control including control of blackgrass in cereal crops comprising preemergent application of a mixture of terbutryne and trifluralin having a ratio of 1:2 to 2.5:1 and compositions for same, particularly liquid concentrate compositions which do not give crystalline precipitation within 24 hours of emulsification, comprising (a) 7.5 to 18% terbutryne, (b) 15 to 25% trifluralin, (c) 28 to 42% non phytoxic alicyclic ketone, (d) 5 to 15% emulsifier, and (e) stabilizing cosolvent selected from (1) 1 to 3% mesityl oxide, or (2) 8 to 15% lower alkyl esters of C-18 unsaturated fatty acids, or (3) a combination of 10 to 20% isophorone and 1 to 3% di-lower alkyl formamide.
Abstract: 2-chloro-4-trifluoromethyl-5-thiazolecarbothioic acid derivatives having the formula ##STR1## where R is C.sub.1-5 alkyl, phenyl or benzyl, have been found to be effective in reducing herbicidal injury to grain sorghum caused by the application thereto of a 2-haloacetanilide herbicide, especially, alachlor.
