  • Patent number: 11665671
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently selecting resources for sidelink communications in a shared spectrum while allowing other user equipment (UEs) a chance to gain access to the shared spectrum. In one aspect, a UE may transmit sidelink data to another UE in accordance with a frequency hopping pattern to randomize interference and improve throughput. According to some aspects, the first UE may transmit the sidelink data on a first set of interleaved frequency resources in a first time interval and a second, different set of interleaved frequency resources in a second time interval. In another aspect, a UE may rely on feedback from other UEs to determine when reserved resources are released, and the UE may use the released resources for sidelink communications.

  • Patent number: 11665748
Abstract: A system and method for random access procedures in a non-terrestrial network. In some embodiments, the method includes calculating, by a user equipment (UE), a timing advance based on location information of the UE and on an ephemeris of a non-terrestrial network node. The method may further include randomly selecting a random value from a plurality of values, and sending, at a transmission time, by the UE, to the non-terrestrial network node, a random access (RA) message, which may include a signature. The transmission time may differ from a nominal transmission time by an amount based on the random value, the nominal transmission time being based on the timing advance, or the signature may differ from a nominal signature by a cyclic shift based on the random value.

  • Patent number: 11617203
Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for sounding reference signals (SRSs) triggered by random access channel (RACH) message 2 for RACH message 4 physical downlink shared channel quasi co-location (QCL) are disclosed herein. A user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station via a transmit beam over a random access channel, a random access preamble and receive a random access response based on the random access preamble. The UE may transmit, to the base station via a plurality of transmit sub-beams, a plurality of SRS transmissions triggered by the random access response. The UE can receive, from the base station, a downlink control signal that includes an SRS resource indicator (SRI) that indicates a selected transmit sub-beam for a corresponding SRS transmission. • Patent number: 11564254
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may determine a transmission beam configuration for transmitting multicast data to a user equipment (UE) in a joint transmission using a set of transmission/reception points (TRPs) based on outcomes of listen before talk (LBT) procedures performed at the TRPs. In some examples, the base station may indicate to the UE that the UE is to determine a UE beam configuration and a quasi co-location (QCL) relationship associated with the TRPs for receiving the multicast data based on signaling from the TRPs. In some examples, the base station may transmit multicast data from a first TRP (e.g., a serving cell) during a first transmission opportunity (TxOP), and the UE may determine the QCL relationship for the set of TRPs. During a second TxOP, the base station may transmit multicast data in a joint transmission from the set of TRPs.

  • Patent number: 11558276
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards reducing latency in a wireless communications network. Radio access network latency data corresponding to a measured latency impact criterion is obtained by a network device of a wireless network. Based on the radio access network latency data, latency guidance data usable by the radio network device to achieve a reduction in communication latency that is experienced by a user equipment is predicted, e.g., by a learned model. The latency guidance data can be used to facilitate a reduction in the communication latency that is experienced by a user equipment.

  • Patent number: 11553522
Abstract: Technologies directed to reducing medium access contention within a wireless network are described. One method includes a first wireless device (e.g., an access point (AP) or mesh station) receiving first data with a first schedule from a second wireless device. Both wireless devices operate on a first channel or an adjacent channel in a wireless network. The first schedule defines a first interval during which the second wireless device transmits or receives frames on the first channel or the second channel. The first wireless device generates a second schedule that defines a second interval during which the first wireless device transmits or receives frames on the first or second channels, the second interval being non-overlapping with the first interval. First wireless device sends second data with the second schedule to the second AP device and communicates a data frame with a device connected to the first wireless device according to the second schedule.

  • Patent number: 11553424
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to a user equipment (UE) for wireless communication. The UE wakes to monitor for a wakeup signal (WUS) having a maximum WUS duration and configured to indicate an upcoming transmission of a paging signal corresponding to the WUS. The UE detects a reference signal tone energy from tones carrying reference signals, detects a WUS tone energy from tones designated for carrying the WUS, and determines whether the WUS is present or absent based on the WUS tone energy and the reference signal tone energy. The UE then transitions to a sleep state prior to an end of the maximum WUS duration when the WUS is determined to be absent. Alternatively, the UE remains awake when the WUS is determined to be present and receives the paging signal corresponding to the WUS. Other aspects, features, and embodiments are also claimed and described.
