  • Patent number: 11088944
Abstract: A program to be executed to perform a packet processing operation on a packet associated with a resource group, as well as security settings of the resource group, are received. The program is transmitted to a set of fast path nodes which were assigned to the resource group based on the group's metadata. With respect to a particular packet, security operations based on the settings are performed and the program is executed at a fast path node. Based at least partly on the results of the program, a packet routing action corresponding to the received packet is performed.

  • Patent number: 11082347
Abstract: Multiple processors are often used in computing systems to solve very large, complex problems, such as those encountered in artificial intelligence. Such processors typically exchange data among each other via an interconnect fabric (such as, e.g., a group of network connections and switches) in solving such complex problems. The amount of data injected into the interconnect fabric by the processors can at times overwhelm the interconnect fabric preventing some of the processors from communicating with each other. To address this problem, techniques are disclosed to enable, for example, processors that are connected to an interconnect fabric to coordinate and control the amount of data injected so that the interconnect fabric does not get overwhelmed.

  • Patent number: 11082942
Abstract: Management of re-synchronization procedures for long term evolution (LTE)/LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) systems with unlicensed spectrum is disclosed. In managing re-synchronization procedures, a base station selects and sends out an enablement indication of the uplink and/or downlink re-synchronization procedure selected. The base station may select the re-synchronization procedures by itself or in coordination with neighboring base stations. Once the indication for the uplink re-synchronization procedure is received at a user equipment (UE), the UE performs its extended clear channel assessment (ECCA) check, but, when the ECCA check is successful, the UE will delay data transmission until the next re-synchronization boundary defined by the selected uplink re-synchronization procedure. With the delayed transmission, the UE performs a clear channel assessment (CCA) check prior to the re-synchronization boundary in order to determine whether the channel is still clear for transmission after the idle period.

  • Patent number: 11076324
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards having a wireless network device assist a user equipment to facilitate narrow beam handover. A network device determines narrow beam handover candidates of neighbor cell sites based on geometric relationships between the user equipment, a serving cell site and the neighbor cell site candidates. Historical information such as previous narrow beam handovers from a serving beam to neighbor narrow beams can be used to select a lesser number of the possible candidate beams. The network device sends the candidate beams to the user equipment, which then measures and reports the measurements to the network device. If handover criteria based on the measurement is met, the network device orders a handover to a selected narrow beam, e.g., the narrow beam with the best measurement data of the candidates.

  • Patent number: 11050800
Abstract: Systems and methods for allocating quality of service (QoS) to real-time communication sessions between user equipment via a communication network are provided. Such systems and methods include identifying an encoding scheme to be used for the communication session, determining a QoS requirement for the communication session based upon the encoding scheme, and determining whether a general communication channel (e.g., a non-GBR channel) of the network meets the QoS requirement. When the general communication channel meets the QoS requirement, a corresponding bearer is used for the communication session. When the general communication channel does not meet the QoS requirement, a bearer associated with a dedicated communication channel (e.g., a GBR channel) is used. Thus, communication sessions using higher quality encoding schemes may be established through general communication channels, reducing congestion in dedicated communication channels.

  • Patent number: 11044185
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards reducing latency in a wireless communications network. Radio access network latency data corresponding to a measured latency impact criterion is obtained by a network device of a wireless network. Based on the radio access network latency data, latency guidance data usable by the radio network device to achieve a reduction in communication latency that is experienced by a user equipment is predicted, e.g., by a learned model. The latency guidance data can be used to facilitate a reduction in the communication latency that is experienced by a user equipment.

  • Patent number: 10966274
Abstract: Coordination of RRC configurations between an LTE NB and an NR NB in dual connectivity with a UE are performed using an RRC container that includes shared or coordinated parameters. For example, an NR NB determines to alter a configuration of a UE. The NR NB transmits a coordinated RRC container with coordinated UE parameters to an LTE NB and transmits a UE parameter RRC container to the LTE NB. The LTE NB evaluates the coordinated container for compliance with the UE capability. If satisfied, the LTE NB can send both containers (in a single RRC message or multiple RRC messages) to the UE.

  • Patent number: 10952031
Abstract: Methods and devices are provided to enable a cluster of user equipments (UEs) to receive a multicast signal over a first spectrum band and access a second spectrum band as a single virtual entity for device-to-device (D2D) mutual broadcast within the cluster. In an embodiment, a first UE in a cluster receives a multicast signal from a wireless network over the first spectrum band, the multicast signal including downlink information targeted to a second UE in the cluster. The first UE performs in a contention procedure for a transmission opportunity (TXOP) in the second spectrum band in accordance with group listen-before-talk (LBT) parameters configured for the cluster. If the contention procedure has acquired a TXOP in the second spectrum band for the cluster, the first UE sends at least a portion of the downlink information to the second UE over the second spectrum band during the TXOP.

  • Patent number: 10938524
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication from a base station to transmit one or more sounding reference signals (SRSs) on respective component carriers (CCs). Each CC may be associated with a different numerology and the UE may determine a transmission timing between reception of the indication and transmission of each of the SRSs based on the numerology for the CC used for transmission. In some cases, the UE may determine the transmission timings based on time durations associated with each numerology, which may be based on a number of symbols for the numerology, a corresponding time between receiving the indication and transmitting uplink data (e.g., SRS), or a combination thereof. The UE may transmit, to the base station, each SRS according to the determined transmission timings.

  • Patent number: 10911355
Abstract: Techniques for utilizing in-band telemetry (INT) in network fabrics are provided. A packet is received at a leaf node in a first logical group of nodes. Upon determining that the first packet was received from a node outside of the first logical group of nodes, the packet is encapsulated with a first header indicating an internal virtual extensible local area network (iVXLAN) identifier associated with the packet, and a second header indicating a policy group is added to the packet. Further, upon determining that a destination of the packet is associated with a second logical group of nodes, a third header is added to the first packet, where the third header stores in-band network telemetry (INT) for the packet, and telemetry data is added to the third header. The packet is transmitted to a spine node in the first logical group of devices.
