Abstract: A message-processing resource receives location information indicating a current location of a mobile device in a network. A user of the mobile device subscribes to use of the network. The message-processing resource maps an identity of the user to a subscriber account and candidate messages associated with the user. The message-processing resource utilizes the location information to identify a message pertinent to the user and the current location of the mobile device. The message-processing resource selects the message from the candidate messages and provides notification of the selected message to the user of the mobile device.

Abstract: A mobility service supporting device includes a communication unit configured to be communicable with a vehicle-mounted device installed in a vehicle subjected to autonomous driving control and a portable terminal of a user of the vehicle and a controller configured to transmit, based on information about the position of the vehicle which is received from the vehicle-mounted device via the communication unit, notification for preventing the portable terminal from being left behind in the vehicle to the portable terminal of the user via the communication unit before the vehicle arrives at a destination of the user.
Abstract: A method for establishing a machine type communication includes receiving a connection request for a machine type communication from a device. The connection request includes an authentication credential for the device. A shared subscriber identity module (SIM) parameter for the machine type communication is obtained based on the authentication credential.
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method of automatically generating an event-based request communication (“ERC”) and routing the ERC to a public safety answering point (“PSAP”) (or other call center) to service the ERC based on PSAP profiles that each specify capabilities of a given PSAP. A client device may be programmed to obtain the capabilities of a relevant PSAP, and generate and communicate an ERC based on the capabilities of the PSAP. The ERC may be generated in a format that the relevant PSAP is capable of processing. The format may include a voice call, a text message, an electronic mail message, a shortwave radio communication, and/or other type of broadband wireless or wireline communication.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a network interface operable to receive a communication request over a communication link of a radio access network. A processor determines one or more characteristics based on the communication request and communicates a message to a networked device to determine a status of the network device identified based on at least one of the characteristics. The processor then terminates the communication request based in part on the status of the networked device.

Abstract: A method and apparatus may include transmitting a measurement split request to a network node. The measurement split request designates a first measurement layer and a second measurement layer. The first measurement layer corresponds to a measurement configuration for the apparatus. The second measurement layer corresponds to a measurement configuration for the network node. The method may also include receiving an acknowledgement that the measurement split request is accepted by the network node. The method may also include transmitting the measurement configuration for the apparatus and the measurement configuration for the network node to a user equipment.
Abstract: In a general aspect, a method is presented for detecting a location of motion using wireless signals that propagate along two or more paths of a wireless communication channel. The method includes storing a set of eigenvectors derived from first motion-sensing data associated with a first time frame. The first motion-sensing data is associated with a first motion-sensing topology of a wireless mesh network. The method also includes obtaining a motion vector based on wireless signals transmitted between access point nodes in the wireless mesh network during a second, subsequent time frame. The wireless mesh network operates in a second, distinct motion-sensing topology during the second time frame. The motion vector is compared with the respective eigen vectors, and a probability vector is generated based on the comparison. A location of the motion of the object during the second time frame is determined based on the probability vector.
Abstract: A method including determining whether an apparatus is to operate in a first, second or third mode of operation; wherein said first mode of operation includes a first level of activity, said second mode of operation includes a second level of activity that is lower than said first level of activity, and said third mode of operation includes a third level of activity that is lower than said second level of activity; applying a first reference signal transmission regime when in said second mode of operation; and applying a second reference signal transmission regime when in said third mode of operation.

Abstract: A mobile computing device can operate as a user device or a service provider device for a network-based service. The mobile computing device can transmit location data to a network system to aid in the network system's management of the network-based service. The mobile computing device can dynamically adjust the location data transmission rate at which location data is transmitted to the network system based on various parameters, including one or more of: a power status, information related to the network-based service, network connectivity metrics, and the like. By dynamically adjusting the location data transmission rate based one or more of these parameters, the mobile computing device can conserve battery power without adversely affecting the provisioning of the network-based service.
Abstract: Migrating and delivering data content to a traveling user is provided. A pattern of data access corresponding to a user is determined. The pattern of data access includes previous data access requests made by the user and data to-be delivered to the user. A travel plan corresponding to the user is determined. The travel plan includes a set of intermediate data delivery destinations based on travel mode, travel route, travel schedule, and geographic locations of stops corresponding to the set of intermediate data delivery destinations. The data content is migrated to a set of data storage locations as the user travels based on the pattern of data access, the travel plan, and the set of intermediate data delivery destinations along the travel route. The data content is delivered to the user at geographic locations corresponding to the set of data storage locations as the user travels.
