  • Patent number: 10171945
Abstract: Location based provisioning and broadcasting of content utilizing a multimedia broadcast service is presented herein. A system can comprise a service component, a location component, and a content component. The service component can be configured to receive a request for a client service. The location component can be configured to determine, based on the request, a location corresponding to a mobile device. Based on the location, the content component can be configured to provision a broadcast service device to source content corresponding to the client service, and initiate a broadcast transmission of the content to the mobile device, e.g., using a broadcast enabled access point device that is configured to send broadcast data to multiple devices via a point-to-multipoint communication protocol.

  • Patent number: 10157533
Abstract: Embodiments of a tracking device featuring a housing, which preferably is closed, waterproof, perhaps made from a synthetic material, and free of pressure switches or other man-machine interface, unless rudimentary at best, are disclosed. Typically, the tracking device comprises attachment means for its attachment to the object, which are suited to the object type. At best, its external shape is adapted to that of the object in such a way that the tracking device hardly vibrates or rattles during transport of the object. By virtue of its shape or by virtue of its attachment means, it is suitable for durable attachment to its object. Ideally, a tracking device measures only a few centimeters, or is even smaller. It should be suitable for being hidden in the object or for being separable therefrom only with difficulty. For such reasons alone, tracking devices differ from mobile telephones and the like.

  • Patent number: 10149222
Abstract: A wireless device 204 and a method for providing an improved cell reselection procedure. The wireless device is served in a serving cell 212-1. At a first point in time, the wireless device determines a first signal quality of a first signal received from the serving cell. At a second point in time, it determines a second signal quality of a second signal received from a neighbor cell 212-2, 222, 232. Based on the determined first and second signal qualities, the wireless device determines a first trigger condition for performing measurements for cell reselection. At a third point in time, the wireless device determines a third signal quality of a third signal received from the serving cell. When a difference between the third and first signal qualities has passed the trigger condition, the wireless device performs at least one measurement for cell reselection on at least one of the cells.

  • Patent number: 10142913
Abstract: A method for refining multicast service areas based on location may include receiving, at a mobile device, location-based definitions of service subareas located within a multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) service area. Different MBMS content may be associated with two or more service subareas. The method includes storing the received location-based definitions of the service subareas within the mobile device, generating a current position of the mobile device, identifying a service subarea from the plurality of service subareas that circumscribes the current position of the mobile device, and permitting, in response to the identifying, user access to MBMS content associated with the identified service subarea.

  • Patent number: 10135967
Abstract: A touch-panel cellular phone specifies an invalid area not accepting a user's input operation on a touch panel in advance. The cellular phone detects a user's touch area on the touch panel so as to execute a function pre-assigned to the touch area not encompassed by the invalid area. Additionally, it is possible to reduce and display menu icons in the display area precluding the invalid area on the touch panel. Thus, it is possible to prevent an error operation when a user holding a cellular phone inadvertently touches the touch panel.
