  • Patent number: 10501956
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provides a unique building structure, and a method to manufacture such building structure that may be able to withstand powerful forces of nature and extreme weather conditions, such as hurricanes, tornado, flood storm, high speed winds, forest fire, mud slide, tsunami, heavy snow, and the like. The building structure may comprise of a concrete anchor unit to which an assembly of structural compression modules and horizontal and vertical tension elements may be attached. The assembly of compression modules and tension elements effectively transfers the natural forces acting along the building structure, thereby resisting the forces by the tension elements. The building structure may be independent of foundation and can be placed anywhere there is solid bearing material that will support its weight. Further, the present invention aims at providing the unique building structure and the manufacturing method at competitive pricing rates.

  • Patent number: 10458120
Abstract: A roofing system features a plurality of roofing sheets each having an outer perimeter of which two opposing perimeter edges respectively define a fastening edge and a hooking edge. One or more fastening holes penetrate the sheet near the fastening edge. At the hooking edge, the sheet is bent under itself to form a hooking portion reaching back toward the fastening edge. A plurality of hold-downs are placed atop a first row of roofing sheets near the fastening edges thereof, and have apertures aligned with the fastening holes of the roofing sheets, through which the hold-downs are fastened to the a roof deck. The hooking edges of a next row of roofing sheets hook to the affixed hold-downs of the first row, thus coupling the two rows of sheets together and concealing the first row's fastened connection to the roof deck beneath the second row.

  • Patent number: 10450715
Abstract: A technician positions a form with a threaded aperture on a pier. Concrete is poured around the form to create a slab foundation. A fixture is then placed on the slab foundation, the fixture having a polygonal anti-rotation member that inserts into a polygonal upper end of the form. The fixture has an upward extending fixture stop member. A threaded rod with a tool adapter on its upper end is screwed into the threaded aperture. The adapter has an adapter stop member extending laterally relative to the fixture stop member. A power tool rotates the adapter to lift the slab foundation until the adapter stop member swings into contact with the fixture stop member. The technician then removes the adapter, places the adapter stop member adjacent an opposite side of the fixture stop member, then again rotates the adapter.

  • Patent number: 10415234
Abstract: A flexible, elongate barrier comprising relatively rigid barrier portions connected by elastomeric joints is introduced slidingly into the cavity of a cavity wall and sealed to the outer leaf of the wall by introducing a portion of the barrier into a slot cut in the inner surface of the wall and/or by providing a water resistant composition which may be injected into the slot. The barrier may form an X or V shaped configuration defining a channel from which water is discharged via drains from the cavity. The barrier portions may be arranged in a flat configuration when the barrier is stored on a reel and moved through a deployed configuration to an installation configuration against the resilient bias of the joint so that they spring out to the deployed configuration to conform to the width of the cavity after installation.
