  • Patent number: 9713137
Abstract: A system and method for mapping a combined frequency division duplexing (FDD) Time Division Multiplexing (TDM)/Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) downlink subframe for use with half-duplex and full-duplex terminals in a communication system. Embodiments of the downlink subframe vary Forward Error Correction (FEC) types for a given modulation scheme as well as support the implementation of a smart antenna at a base station in the communication system. Embodiments of the system are also used in a TDD communication system to support the implementation of smart antennae. A scheduling algorithm allows TDM and TDMA portions of a downlink to efficiently co-exist in the same downlink subframe and simultaneously support full and half-duplex terminals.

  • Patent number: 9655027
Abstract: An event venue with a performance area (e.g., a stage, a sport field, a sport court) and an eventgoer area (e.g., a stadium seating section, a bleacher section) may include beacons and cameras throughout the performance area. The beacons and cameras may each record event occurrence data (e.g., images, audio, video, or some combination thereof) of particular occurrences (e.g., sport goals, sport fouls, songs played) during an event (e.g., sports game, concert) at the event venue. The beacons and cameras may send this event occurrence data to a transmission system. The transmission system may convert the event occurrence data from a first format to a second format, and then may output the event occurrence data in the second format through one or more local wireless transmitters. Eventgoers in the transmission zones of these transmitters may then receive the event occurrence data at their mobile devices.

  • Patent number: 9590893
Abstract: A system and method for management of a network link includes a switching device that includes a control unit and a port coupled to the control unit. The port couples the switching device to a partner switching device using a network link. • Patent number: 9585128
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and arrangements that make it possible to control the delay for the UEs to access the EUL resources in the Enhanced Uplink in CELL_FACH state procedure, independently from the delay for the UEs to access ordinary UL resources in the RACH procedure. This is achieved by a solution where the timing of entering (or re-entering) a transmission procedure for Enhanced Uplink in CELL_FACH state is controlled with the help of a transmission control parameter defined specifically for this transmission procedure, instead of using the same parameter as for the RACH procedure.

  • Patent number: 9585174
Abstract: A technology for an enhanced node B (eNode B) in a cellular network that is operable to determine downtilt using full dimensional (FD) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO). A plurality of orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) signals can be transmitted, wherein each transmitted OFDMA signal is transmitted with a selected downtilt angle from a two dimensional antenna array of the eNode B. Reference signal received power (RSRP) feedback information can be received from a UE for each of transmitted OFDMA signals at the selected downtilt angles. Received signal strength indicator (RSSI) feedback information can be received from the UE. A reference signal received quality (RSRQ) can be calculated for each of the selected antennas angles using the RSRP feedback information and the RSSI feedback information. A downtilt angle can be selected for transmitting data from the eNode B with a highest signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR).
