The method includes establishing a box structure having an inner cavity and a side portion; dividing the side portion into a lower retention portion, and upper retention portion, and a window recess portion, the dividing including: establishing a side recess panel at a location along a side panel of the box structure; establishing a front recess panel along a front panel of the box structure, the front recess panel adjacent the side recess panel, the front recess panel having a greater width than the side recess panel; and establishing the window recess portion by folding the first and front recess panels into the box structure.

A releasable locking feature is provided at a side of the package, which comprises a pair of locking edges, one associated with a sidewall of each of the slider and container respectively, and a release area for releasing a locking abutment between the locking edges. The release area is provided in the sidewall of the container having the locking edge, and the locking edge of the slider comprises two or more plies of a material used to provide the slider. The package includes means for biasing the locking edge of the slider into engagement with the locking edge of the container. The biasing means extends from a blister pack carrier connected to the slider.

A ring of cushioning material lines each opening. The cushioning material is in the form of semi-circular strips, the strips of registering recesses forming a ring, or in the form of a complete ring. Each ring includes a web (24) which lies against the semi-circular faces (20, 22) of the recesses (12, 14) and flanges (26) which lie against the side faces of the elements (10).

The insert, along with the alignment of the openings, allows a user to drink from the cup unimpeded while preventing liquid from within the cup from spilling out in significant quantities when the cup is tipped over.

The cup has a beverage container and a sound-emitting base that is attached to the bottom of the container. The cup contains a capacitive liquid sensing system: two electrodes forming a capacitor that are flush mounted in the bottom of the beverage container, two spring loaded connectors that bridge between the electrodes and a capacitive liquid sensor that is contained in the base.
