  • Patent number: 8669766
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and systems for detecting electric potential difference in water. A first electrode comprising a first electrode body is configured to be in electrical contact with the water when the device is disposed in the water. A second electrode comprising a second electrode body is configured to be in electrical contact with the water when the device is disposed in the water. An electrical connection exists amongst the first electrode, the second electrode, and a voltage measuring device. At least one of the first electrode body and the second electrode body is formed at least partially of a carbon aerogel material.

  • Patent number: 8664959
Abstract: There is provided a method for measuring abnormality detection parameters of a disconnect switch, comprising: releasably connecting a first sensor to the disconnect switch, the first sensor adapted to measure a first parameter related to a position of an arm of the disconnect switch, the disconnect switch comprising a rotating actuation element operatively connected to the arm for moving the arm between a closed position and an open position; releasably connecting a second sensor to the rotating actuation element, the second sensor adapted to measure a second parameter related to a torque of the rotating actuation element; moving the arm using the actuation element; measuring and storing in memory the first and second parameters while the arm is moving; and disconnecting the first and second sensors.

  • Patent number: 8648603
Abstract: A deterioration degree calculating apparatus for a secondary battery of the invention includes: obtaining a voltage value at a stop time of charge and discharge of a target secondary battery; obtaining a voltage value at a first start time of charge and discharge after that; obtaining an SOC of the target secondary battery at the stop time or at the start time; obtaining a length of an unused period from the stop time to the start time (an elapsed time); obtaining a self-discharge slope of the target secondary battery by dividing an absolute value of a difference between the voltage value at the start time and the voltage value at the stop time by the elapsed time; obtaining a temperature during an unused period by use of a self-discharge map in which the SOC and the self-discharge slope is recorded for each temperature; calculating a progress degree of deterioration of the target secondary battery during the unused period based on the obtained temperature and elapsed time; and accumulating the calculated det

  • Patent number: 8552742
Abstract: A calibration method for radio frequency scattering parameter measurements enabling self-calibration, which calibration method using a transmission line segment calibrator, a series device calibrator, a shunt device calibrator and a tested object measuring instrument, in which the lengths of the transmission lines in the series device calibrator and the shunt device calibrator are equal to the length of the transmission lines in the tested object measuring instrument such that the series device calibrator and the shunt device calibrator have the same error box as the tested object measuring instrument; and after acquiring the scattering parameter matrix of the error box through the calibration method, it is possible to connect a tested electronic device onto the tested object measuring instrument and perform operations on uncorrected measurement data thereof thereby obtaining the radio frequency scattering parameter of the tested object.
