  • Patent number: 12292527
Abstract: An integrated apparatus and method is provided for a collar that is configured to operate as part of a wireless fence system that contains and monitors the location of a dog within containment area defined by the wireless fence system and further configured to provide GPS tracking capability when the dog has escaped from the containment area. As long as the dog remains in the area defined by the wireless fence, the collar operates solely in a wireless fence mode, communicating with the transmitters used as part of the wireless fence system. The GPS tracking function remains “asleep” and is not activated unless and until the dog escapes. Once GPS mode is activated, fence mode is shut down and operation of the GPS enables the dog owner or other individual to receive SMS messages and/or email with information on the dog's location on a smart-phone, tablet or PC.

  • Patent number: 12287394
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to communicating data for authentication and location determination, such as for authenticating a key FOB and locating the key FOB within a defined distance. As may be implemented in accordance with one or more embodiments, a plurality of headerless packets, respectively including scrambled timestamp sequence (STS) packets but not including encoding and/or synchronization headers, are communicated between respective communication circuits. A time of flight (TOF) value indicative of time elapsed between transmission and reception of the plurality of headerless packets is assessed based on the STS packets. A distance between the communication circuits is determined based on the assessed time of flight.

  • Patent number: 12289610
Abstract: A network may transmit either beam deployment information or beam number information to a user equipment (UE) carried on a train and configured for operation in the millimeter wave band. The deployment information may include deployment related distance parameters or azimuth angle spread parameters. The beam number information may indicate a number of network beams associated with a current cell. The UE may determine a number of UE receive beams based on deployment information or the network-indicated number of network beams. The UE may transmit feedback to the network, indicating the number of UE receive beams. Alternatively, the network may send a configuration message indicating a first number of UE receive beams to the UE, which the UE may treat as an upper bound or lower bound in its determination of a desired number of UE receive beams. The UE may transmit the desired number to the network.

  • Patent number: 12284723
Abstract: A wireless communication device (UE) may provide information pertaining to one or more operating capabilities of the UE to LTE and 5G-NR networks. The UE may transmit information to an LTE base station directly, and to a 5G-NR base station directly, or indirectly via the LTE base station. The information may include preferred values corresponding to any number of different operating parameters associated with wireless communications or wireless communication capabilities of the UE in both LTE and 5G-NR networks, informing and/or requesting the LTE and 5G-NR networks to make provisions based on the transmitted information for the wireless communications of the UE on those networks. The UE may thereby provide assistance information to LTE and 5G-NR networks in a multi-radio-access-technology dual-connectivity setting to request the respective networks to adjust certain operating capabilities of the UE in order to alleviate one or more operating issues that may be affecting the UE.

  • Patent number: 12274541
Abstract: A smart object may be used to monitor the hydration level of a person. The object has at least two impedance sensors that can be used to sense the complex impedance of a person when a tissue of the user comes into contact with the impedance sensors. The measured impedance can then be used to determine the hydration level of the person. In addition to using the impedance sensors to determine the hydration level of the person, the impedance sensors can also be used to capture an electrocardiogram for the person. The smart object may also be used with another smart object to determine the identity of the user or other physiological parameters of the user such as blood pressure.

  • Patent number: 12237900
Abstract: A method performed by a wireless device (510, 700, 1100) is disclosed. The wireless device obtains (601) a configuration for a sub-band channel quality indicator (CQI) granularity and a sub-band precoding matrix indicator (PMI) granularity for the wireless device. The wireless device determines (602) channel state information (CSI) feedback according to the configured sub-band CQI granularity and the sub-band PMI granularity. The sub-band PMI granularity corresponds to a first sub-band size and the sub-band CQI granularity corresponds to a second sub-band size. The first sub-band size is smaller than the second sub-band size. The wireless device transmits (603), to a network node (560, 1000), the determined CSI feedback.
