  • Patent number: 7287449
Abstract: Screwing tool (1) having a grip (2) and a shank (3), which is received removably in a cavity (4) open toward an end of the grip (2) and which at its free end has an actuating portion (5). The shank (3) is retained in a position of use such that it is fixed in terms of rotation on the grip, to avoid sliding in the axial direction, by a retaining element (14) associated with the grip (2). The retaining element (14) can be displaced into a removal position by displacement of an actuating member (6) in order for the shank to be removed from the grip (2). In a storage position, a large part of the shank (3) is located in the cavity (4), where it is held by a holding element (H). The holding element (H) is releasable, so that part of the shank (3) can be moved out.

  • Patent number: 7281451
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for making and breaking tubular connections within a tubular string are disclosed. In certain aspects, a tong assembly includes gated power and back up tongs coupled to a torque bar. Jaws of the tongs may be arranged circumferentially with support members disposed between adjacent jaws to substantially complete a 360° closed circle. A hydraulic circuit may equally distribute fluid and pressure to actuate the jaws. The power tong may include a gated rotor driven by at least three drive motors. The rotor may be selectively physically locked from rotation or movement by one or more rotor locks. Further, the tong assembly may include an interlock that prevents activation of the drive motors until the rotor locks actuate to unlock the rotor. Additionally, gate locks may secure the tongs and rotor when closed, and a releasable coupling arrangement may aid engagement of a motor to a rotor pump.

  • Patent number: 7246540
Abstract: Three congruent prongs (16A, 16B, 16C) mounted on a shaft tube (12), converges simultaneously when an operating sleeve (14) moves forward. This action, along with their notches and shape provides a firm grip for holding and starting nuts and bolts. These prongs, made out of 304 grade stailess steel bands, provide good spring-like flexibility and rigidity. The concave sides of the prongs mate with the outside surface of the shaft tube (12) every time the operating sleeve (14) is moved forward. These physical features provide consistent alignment of the prongs every time the tool is used. With rubber sealant (16D) coated on the inside surface of the prongs, the nut and bolt starter gives a firm grip to hold and start a wide variety of shapes and sizes of screws, nuts and bolts. Additional uses of this tool are done with the prop rod (20) supplementing the prongs.

  • Patent number: 7234375
Abstract: An electric air pressure corkscrew includes an upper shell for containing a motor driving a speed-reducing gear unit, which then turns a rotatable block contained in a lower shell fixed in the upper shell. The rotatable block then pushes an interactive block to reciprocate up and down repeatedly so that a piston in an air cylinder reciprocates up and down to pump air through a needle fixed under the air cylinder and inserted in a cork of a wine bottle and into the interior of the bottle so that the air pressure in the bottle is gradually increased to shove the cork up gradually to separate from the mouth of the bottle. The separated cork can be removed off the needle by turning a rotatable sleeve to move a slide tube and a slide base, easy to handle.
