  • Patent number: 6080351
Abstract: A method of molding a movable block for a rolling motion guide device can effectively prevent the formation of burrs in the rolling member rolling groove and accurately positioning the movable block body in a molding die.The positioning of the movable block body in width, vertical and longitudinal directions is performed at plain surfaces that are different from the rolling member rolling groove, so that damage or injury of the rolling member rolling groove can be prevented. Further, the molding material is shut off at either both end portions or both side peripheries of the rolling member rolling grooves, so that the molding material can be prevented from invading into the rolling member rolling grooves.

  • Patent number: 6063198
Abstract: The present invention provides an improved device, system, and method for handling accidental explosions in a substrate processing chambers typically used in chemical vapor deposition (CVD). In particular, the invention channels the force from an explosion into alternate pathways leading away from the substitute processing chamber. In one embodiment, the high pressure release device for a semiconductor manufacturing system comprises of a diaphragm adapted to burst above a predetermined pressure. When installed in the system, the diaphragm is in fluid contact with the substrate processing chamber and covers the entrance to an exhaust passage which channels excess pressure away from the chamber.

  • Patent number: 6063326
Abstract: A method of thermoforming a thin flexible film comprising a series of steps. A thin flexible film capable of being thermoformed is heated until it is pliable. A mold having first and second surfaces on different planes forms a thermoformed article having a contoured surface. A first portion of the pliable film is contacted with the first surface. A first vacuum is applied through the first surface to draw the first portion against the first surface. After the first portion of the film is drawn against the first surface, a second portion of the film contacts the second surface. A second vacuum is applied through the second surface to draw the second portion of the film against the second surface. Air trapped between the mold and the film is first removed between the first surface and the first portion of the film and then removed from between the second surface and the second portion of said film so that the thermoformed article is substantially defect-free.

  • Patent number: 6051071
Abstract: A dry pump (32) has an inlet connected to the oven (10) for the purpose of establishing the desired low pressure conditions inside the oven and for extracting residual gas therefrom, a hydrolysis reactor (50) is connected to an outlet of the dry pump in order to receive residual gases coming from the oven, the hydrolysis reactor includes a first outlet (52) for solid deposits or for acid solutions coming from hydrolysis of the gases it receives, and it has a second outlet (54) for gas which is connected to the atmosphere. Gas injection means (46, 48) are located between the inlet of the dry pump (32) and the hydrolysis reactor (50) to prevent any backflow from the hydrolysis reactor towards the pump. Water feed means (74, 76) are connected to the hydrolysis reactor (50), at least via the second outlet (54) thereof, in order to put into solution the acid vapors that come from the hydrolysis reactor, thereby avoiding discharging them in the atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 6039809
Abstract: A liquid raw material is heated to its boiling point or higher at a vaporizer to mix the vaporized ingredient gas and a carrier gas at a mixer at predetermined concentrations. The flow of the mixed gas is adjusted while the mixed gas is heated to over its condensing point and the temperature thereof is kept. Subsequently, the mixed gas is fed to a reactor for epitaxial growth while the mixed gas is heated to over its condensing point and the temperature thereof is kept. When the temperature of a heating medium is kept constant at the vaporizer to vaporize the liquid raw material and the feeding amount of the liquid into the vaporizer is adjusted by the pressure of the gas inside the vaporizer, the liquid surface level can be controlled to be constant.

  • Patent number: 6039091
Abstract: Filling device and method for use in manufacturing of gel filled prostheses which provides fast and accurate filling of prosthesis shells without deterioration of the gel or induction of air into the prosthesis. The filling method utilizes a dual port cannula for penetrating a preslit fill port on a prosthesis shell, the cannula having one port coupled through a flexible tube to a peristaltic pump supplied with gel under pressure, and a second port coupled through a flexible tube to a vacuum system. The cannula and prosthesis shell being filled are supported on a scale, with the flexible tubes being disposed so that pressure variations in the tubes do not effect the scale readings.

  • Patent number: 6039907
Abstract: To postform the region of transition between the initial part and the end part of a section piece forming a closed frame and applied to window glass (1) by extrusion, use is made of a mould (14) which pivots about an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the extruded section piece and which is situated in the region of the surface of the window glass (1). The axis of pivoting of the mould (14) coincides with the cutting ridge (15) of a protrusion (16) which limits the calibrated cavity of the mould (14) on the internal face of the extruded section piece. As the mould (14) pivots, the excess polymer material is pushed back in the direction of the periphery of the window glass and beyond this periphery.

  • Patent number: 6036896
Abstract: A method of preheating a thermoformable laminate assembly having first and second sides is disclosed. The method includes supplying pressurized heated air to first and second manifolds, each of which has an inlet for receiving the heated air and a plurality of orifices for passing the heated air out of the respective manifold. The manifolds are configured such that the orifices disposed progressively further away from the inlet of one manifold correspond with the orifices disposed progressively nearer to the inlet of the other manifold. The method further includes homogenizing the heated air and introducing the heated air onto the first side of the laminate assembly. A suction is developed on the second side of the laminate assembly to draw the heated air through the assembly, thereby convectively heating the assembly. An apparatus for practicing the method is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6033617
Abstract: An improved pipe belling process is shown which features a mandrel having spring loaded detents at one circumferential position on an outer working surface. A gasket is installed on the outer working surface in abutment with the exposed detents. The heated socket end of a thermoplastic pipe is forced over the mandrel exterior and over the gasket with the detents in an extended position. This action causes the heated socket end of the pipe to flow over the gasket and form a retention groove for retaining the gasket before again contacting the working surface of the mandrel. The heated end of the pipe is cooled and retracted from the working surface of the mandrel. The retraction step serves to force the spring loaded detents to the retracted position to allow travel of the thermoplastic pipe over the working surface of the mandrel with the gasket being retained within the formed groove.
