  • Patent number: 11643925
Abstract: A method of monitoring a reservoir comprising setting at least one barrier in a well separating it into upper and lower isolated sections. A perforating gun or other perforating device is provided in the lower isolated section, along with a control mechanism, wireless communication device and a pressure sensor. After the barrier is set, the perforating gun is activated in order to create at least one perforation between the well and a surrounding reservoir. The well, or part of it, is suspended or abandoned but the pressure is still monitored and a wireless, preferably acoustic or electromagnetic, data signal is transmitted from the lower isolated section to above the barrier. Data from the suspended/abandoned part of the well may be used to infer characteristics of the reservoir so that it may be exploited more appropriately especially through another well.

  • Patent number: 11608708
Abstract: An apparatus, a system and a process may be used for regulating a wellhead control mechanism. The apparatus may control actuation of the wellhead control mechanism by moving a moveable body of the apparatus between a first position and a second position. When the apparatus is in the first position, a valve actuator is actuatable. When the apparatus is in the second position the valve actuator is physically interfered from actuating. Additionally, when the apparatus is in the second position, the wellhead control mechanism cannot be actuated and is held in either an open, a partially open or a closed position. Further, a system may directly control an actuation of a wellhead actuation mechanism.

  • Patent number: 11603738
Abstract: An estimation system includes an acquirer, an inferrer, a corrector, and an estimator. The acquirer acquires a measured value of an outer surface temperature of a pipe through which fluid flows. The inferrer infers an execution time for a removal process for deposits on an inner surface of the pipe. The corrector corrects an estimated value used for estimating a thickness of the deposits, by using the measured value of the outer surface temperature of the pipe, which is acquired within a predetermined time from an inference result of the execution time for the removal process for the deposits. The estimator estimates the thickness of the deposits based on the corrected estimated value and the measured value of the outer surface temperature of the pipe.
