  • Patent number: 6761349
Abstract: An improved clamping assembly especially suited for use in a bench vise for allowing a user to choose between conventional fine-screw-reduction closure and/or opening of the jaws for clamping, or quick-set sliding adjustment of the jaws. The clamping assembly relies on a toothed rack and pawl. The pawl is selectively engaged with the toothed rack to allow conventional reduction gear closure or opening. Alternatively, a user can more quickly open and close the jaws by disengaging the pawl from the rack and simply sliding the jaws relative to one another. The clamping assembly provides a quick-set clamping action which allows a user to initially to preset the jaws by sliding them together in one quick motion, followed by conventional fine-screw-adjustment for high-force clamping.

  • Patent number: 6757950
Abstract: A stuffer pin for a rotatable, two part fluid quick connector carries the seal elements and a retainer housing carrying a retainer for mounting the seal elements in the bore of a first component of the fluid quick connector and positioning the retainer housing for locking and rotatable engagement with the first component. A flange on the stuffer pin prevents premature movement of the retainer in the retainer housing to the fully latched position until the stuffer pin is removed from the assembled two part fluid quick connector. The flange does not interfere with the ability of the stuffer pin to carry an axially displaceable retainer in the retainer housing.

  • Patent number: 6752379
Abstract: A toilet dolly is a “U”-shaped frame that slide around either side of the toilet bowl. The frame comprises two arms that are adjustable to fit any size bowl or any difficult installation and are connected to a cross-arm. Padded lifting arms are provided to lock in place around the bowl. The two toilet mounting nuts removed, a series of three jack screws are raised in an alternating fashion to allow the bowl assembly to clear the floor-mounted fastening bolts. Once clear, the bowl can be rolled out of the bathroom. The bowl can be reinstalled by a similar but reverse process. The actually raising of the jack screw can be accomplished with an electrical drill, including cordless drills, and/or a ratchet.

  • Patent number: 6749179
Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for placing one or more wires into split loom tubing. An apparatus is provided that includes a partial enclosure, a longitudinal channel, and a flared wedge. The partial enclosure has a proximal end and a distal end. The longitudinal channel runs from the proximal end to the distal end, and the channel has a width sufficient to guide a wire as it is placed into the split loom tubing. The flared wedge is coupled to the proximal end and has a width sufficient to stretch open an interior of the split loom tubing to facilitate transferring the wire from the channel into the split loom tubing. In operation, the split loom tubing is loaded with wiring by inserting the apparatus into the interior of the split loom tubing and by moving the apparatus along the length of the split loom tubing. This movement quickly and effectively deposits the wiring into the split loom tubing.

  • Patent number: 6736371
Abstract: A central tube has a rectangular cross section and is attached to an end piece which abuts against a wall of a compartment or the side of an object to be held in place. The other end of the central tube is telescopically fitted within a second rectangular tube. One surface of the central tube is ratcheted and a handle operated ratchet drive mechanism is mounted on the end of the second tube towards the end piece. The second tube is telescopically fitted within a third tube having a rectangular cross section. The remote end of the third tube is fixedly attached to a second end piece which abuts against either a compartment wall or an object to be held in place. The second tube is joined to the third tube at any one of three extension positions of the third bar relative to the second bar thereby setting the jack bar at a predetermined length. This length can then be increased to hold the cargo in position by actuating the ratchet mechanism.

  • Patent number: 6726192
Abstract: A power-operated hand tool has a handle portion or frame that is gripped by the operator using two hands. A clamping portion comprising a pair of opposed jaws extends outwardly from the handle portion and utilizes an air cylinder to move an upper clamping jaw toward and away from the lower fixed jaw. Both jaws have free outermost ends that cooperatively define an entry mouth into a clamping zone between the jaws. In use, a group of individual boards are laid side-by-side in edge-to-edge relationship slightly above a work surface so as to permit the lower jaw of the tool to be slipped beneath the boards while the upper jaw becomes placed above the boards, both of which extend transversely across the boards. Upon actuation of the air cylinder, the upper jaw comes down into flattening engagement with the boards, causing them to be clamped down into generally flat alignment with one another in a common plane so as to present a substantially smooth top surface.
