Patent number: 9407892Abstract: In one example embodiment, a program navigation system involves a television (TV) set (or other audio/visual presentation device) and a mobile device. While the TV set is playing an audio/visual program, a keyword recognition module may extract keywords from textual data associated with the program. The textual data may include textual words that match words spoken in the program. Time markers for the keywords may also be saved. A time marker may indicate a play time within the program for the corresponding keyword. The TV set may automatically transmit the keywords to the mobile device, and the mobile device may automatically display the keywords in a user interface. A user may then select one of the keywords. In response, the mobile device may automatically cause the TV set to jump to a portion of the program containing the selected keyword. Other embodiments are described and claimed.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2011Date of Patent: August 2, 2016Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Stanley Mo, Claudio J. Patent number: 9383587Abstract: A method and an apparatus for displaying 3D images are disclosed. 2D images are projected from multiple points to a surface with narrow diffusion characteristics, thus it is possible to get a 3D light field with arbitrary angular dependence. According to the invention, the projectors (10) do not target particular screen (12) points. The projectors (10) are directed to the screen (12) with no special positioning, however from the bunch of light beams present, pertaining to the large number of pixels in the projected images, it is possible to select and define a pixel-wise precise 3D light-field through a calibration process. A novel calibration method and device are also described for calibrating 3D display systems, the device being equipped with proper image sensor(s) and a control system.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 2010Date of Patent: July 5, 2016Inventor: Tibor Balogh

Patent number: 9386280Abstract: A method for setting up a monitoring camera includes tilting a camera head of the camera to a tilting position in which an optical axis of the camera substantially coincides with a rotational axis that the camera head is turning around when panning, and in which the camera head is able to capture images through a wide angle lens arranged in a fixed position in relation to a base of the camera. The camera head is turned around the optical axis of the camera and captures images until wide angle images captured through the wide angle lens present the desired orientation. A home position value for a pan motor of the camera is stored, wherein the position value represents the position value for the pan motor when the captured wide angle image presents the desired orientation.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2012Date of Patent: July 5, 2016Assignee: AXIS ABInventors: Carl-Ola Boketoft, Niklas Hansson

Patent number: 9313449Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for exchanging information between devices. Each device is configured to execute a web browser application. One of the devices is referred to as a streamer device, and the other a receiver device. The receiver device includes a camera for receiving images displayed by the streamer device. A user of the streamer device can orient the display of the streamer towards the camera of the receiver device. The receiver device uses the camera to observe images displayed by any streamer devices that are present within the field of view of the camera. The receiver device, via the camera, analyzes each video frame displayed by the streamer device for a pattern. If the pattern is detected and matches a predefined pattern, the receiver device can retrieve information associated with the pattern, and display that information in the web browser.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2014Date of Patent: April 12, 2016Assignee: Adobe Systems IncorporatedInventors: Damien Antipa, Alexandre Capt, Oscar Bolanos

Patent number: 9299389Abstract: A method, system, and computer-readable storage medium are disclosed for interpretation of free-form timelines into compositing instructions. An array comprising a plurality of items is generated. Each of the plurality of items comprises one or more instructions representing one or more operations occurring at a point in time in a video sequence. For each one of a plurality of patterns, the array is scanned to determine if one or more groups of items in the array match the pattern. For each group of items matching one of the plurality of patterns, the matching group of items is replaced in the array with a merged item. Each merged item comprises an ordered sequence of the one or more instructions in the corresponding matching group of items. A frame of the video sequence is composited dependent on the array comprising the one or more merged items.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 2012Date of Patent: March 29, 2016Assignee: Adobe Systems IncorporatedInventor: Michael Gallo

Patent number: 9264676Abstract: A broadband imager, which is able to image both IR and visible light, is disclosed. In one embodiment, an IR sensitive region of an IR pixel underlies the R, G, B sensitive regions of R, G, and B visible pixels. Therefore, the IR pixel receives IR light through a same surface area of the photosensor through which the R, G, and B pixels receive visible light. However, the IR light generates electron-hole pairs deeper below the common surface area shared by the RGB and IR pixels, than visible light. The photosensor also has a charge accumulation region for accumulating charges generated in the IR sensitive region and an electrode above the charge accumulation region for providing a voltage to accumulate the charges generated in the IR pixel.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 2012Date of Patent: February 16, 2016Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: David Cohen, Giora Yahav
