  • Patent number: 7614832
Abstract: A portable, air powered drill has an automated feed system and an adjustable dwell for producing countersunk holes in a workpiece. The feed system uses hydraulic cylinders and pneumatic control logic to control the feed rate, and the dwell time of a countersink drill bit at the end of the drill stroke. A movable mechanical stop permits an operator user to adjust countersink depth. The control logic provides fully automatic feed of the drill bit, and adjustment of the dwell time to consistently produce identical countersunk holes in a variety of workpiece materials.

  • Patent number: 7607871
Abstract: A floating tool-bit depth controlling nosepiece for a spring loaded tool holder is used to countersink holes of equal size when the height of the work piece material changes. The floating tool-bit depth controlling nosepiece, driven by a cnc machine, is rigidly coupled to the floating portion of the tool holding element. The floating depth controlling nosepiece has a bearing on the end to allow an area of the nosepiece to stop rotating when the nosepiece is pressed against the work-piece surface. Since the area of the nosepiece that comes into contact with the work-piece is no longer spinning in relationship with the work-piece, the possibility of scratching the work-piece surface is reduced. Additionally, the nosepiece has cutouts therein to expel machined chips during countersinking of holes.

  • Patent number: 7597512
Abstract: A tapping method for performing a tapping process in a punch press includes engaging a front end of a tap provided at a tapping tool attached to a rotating mold indexing device rotatably provided at the punch press with a prepared hole formed in a workpiece. When the front end of the tap is engaged with the prepared hole, a control motor of the rotating mold indexing device is rotated positively to rotate the tap positively. When it is detected that the control motor of the rotating mold indexing device has rotated a determined number of times, positive rotation of the control motor is stopped and the motor is rotated reversely, thereby to detach the tap from the prepared hole of the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 7591616
Abstract: A detachably mountable hand drill tool bit holder and static tool presenting apparatus holds a plurality of bits for use with a hand drill tool. The apparatus comprises a horizontally oriented oblong oval shaped receptacle with two parallel sides forming an aperture for receiving and frictionally engaging tool bits. The apparatus is made of a resilient rubber or rubber-like material. The bottom is shaped to be inserted and frictionally engaged by a slot formed in the hand drill tool. The top of the apparatus allows ends of tool bits to extend outward so that each bit is presented and can be easily grabbed for use. Bits are returned to the holder by inserting anywhere there is unoccupied space in the holder by forcing the bit into the space. The size of the holder's oblong oval shaped receptacle is selected to exhibit a width between the two parallel sides that is significantly less than the diameter of the smallest bit.
