  • Patent number: 8578820
Abstract: The present invention can include an apparatus having both a wire nut receiver and a wire insulation stripper thus allowing a user to strip insulation from wires and then connect them using a wire nut with the same apparatus. The apparatus can include a wire nut receiver defining a cavity having a proximal end and a distal end and one or more stripper blades disposed adjacent to the distal end of the cavity of the wire nut receiver. The apparatus can also include a driver, such as for example a hex driver, connected to the wire nut receiver and the one or more stripper blades. Alternatively, the apparatus can be configured such that the diameter of the one or more stripper blades relative to a rotational axis is variable, which in turn allows a user to easily account for different thicknesses or gauges of wire to be stripped.

  • Patent number: 8573095
Abstract: An open end wrench includes first and second jaws. The first jaw includes an arcuate sliding groove having two support walls and an arcuate sliding wall between the support walls. A slide is slideably received in the sliding groove and includes an arcuate sliding face slideable along the sliding wall. Two wings respectively extend from top and bottom faces of the slide. Top and bottom extension faces extend from a wrenching face of the slide and are located on inner faces of the wings. When the open end wrench drives a workpiece to rotate, an outer face of each wing is partially in contact with the second jaw. Force imparted from the workpiece to the wings is transmitted to the second jaw.

  • Patent number: 8555753
Abstract: A strap wrench includes a strap that is a continuous loop and has notches. No portion of the strap is affixed to any portion of the wrench. The strap is placed around an object that needs to be turned such as an oil filter on an engine. A tension mechanism is then used to tighten the strap into place around the object to be turned. A ratchet mechanism engages one or more notches on the strap to prevent movement of the strap in one direction while allowing movement of the strap in the opposite direction. The combination of the notched continuous loop strap and ratchet mechanism allow the strap wrench to have a ratcheting action after the strap is tightened into place around the object to be turned.

  • Patent number: 8516928
Abstract: A ratchet wrench includes a head having a first compartment rotatably receiving a drive member. A second compartment is defined in an inner periphery of the first compartment and receives first and second pawls. A switch is pivotably mounted in a control groove of the head and controls engagement relations between the first and second pawls and the drive member. A limiting member is connected between the first and second pawls and maintains two closest teeth respectively of first and second toothed sections of the first and second pawls to be in a restraining spacing that is smaller than a jam spacing, preventing the first and second pawls from jamming between the drive member and a wall of the second compartment.

  • Patent number: 8485069
Abstract: A wrench with a ratchet device includes a wrench body, a driving set, a cover member and a controlling member. A hole is opened on the wrench body. A receiving space is defined near the hole. An assembling groove is defined near the receiving space. The controlling member is assembled into the receiving space. The driving set has a ratchet and a driving block. The ratchet is assembled into the hole and the driving block is assembled into the receiving space. The driving block abuts against a bottom of the receiving space. The ratchet is engaged with the driving block. The controlling member has a switching member inserted into the assembling groove to move the driving block.
