Abstract: A mobile terminal 10 is equipped with an LCD monitor 32 and a touch panel input device 24 mounted on an upper surface of the LCD monitor 32. The LCD monitor 32 displays character input keys and a received mail, so that character strings in a body text of the received mail are arbitrarily selected by operations on the touch panel input device 24. Further, related information of a selected character string is temporarily stored so as to be correlated with an arbitrary character input key. Then, when a touch-and-slide operation is performed from the character input key utilized in the temporary storage to a body text of a transfer mail, the temporarily stored related information can be inserted into the body text of the transfer mail.

Abstract: A system (102) for previewing changes to a structured flow diagram is provided. The system includes a user interface (110) that displays a structured flow diagram according to a predetermined visual format. The system (100) further includes a preview module (112) for generating a modified display of a portion of the structured flow diagram displayable with the user interface (110). The modified display shows a user-directed modification to the structured flow diagram by displaying the user-directed modification in a different visual format juxtaposed with portions of the structured flow diagram that remain unchanged by the user-directed modification. The modification to the structured flow diagram can thus be previewed prior to determining whether to incorporate the modification into the structured flow diagram if the system user elects to do so.

Abstract: Apparatus and articles of manufacture are provided for assisting in the organization of information accessed through a web browser. At least one item of information accessed through the web browser is captured and visually represented in a defined organizational area of a display. A relevance index is calculated for each item of information that is visually represented to a current web-browsing behavior. The relevance index is conveyed for each item of information to the current web-browsing behavior to a user of the web browser.

Abstract: In a system and method for controlling a virtual keyboard of an electronic device, the virtual keyboard is generated and displayed on a touch screen of the electronic device. The method sets an angle threshold value, a movement amplitude and a movement direction of the virtual keyboard for each tilting angle of the electronic device. When the electronic device is in an edit mode and displays a middle keyboard area of the virtual keyboard, the method records an initial tilting angle and read the tilting angle of the electronic device. The method calibrates the read tilting angle to acquire actual tilting angle according to the initial tilting angle, and confirms the movement amplitude and movement direction of the virtual keyboard according to the actual tilting angle. The virtual keyboard is controlled to move according to the confirmed movement amplitude and towards the confirmed movement direction.

Abstract: An email client and file manager provides combined file management and communications management in a single interface. An interface allows documents, email messages, contact information, web links or pages, and user-attached notes to be stored in the same folders. This facilitates communication by email and fax. The interface permits the user to combine this data in folders which the user categorizes according to a folder tree created by the user. In one embodiment of the invention, the client, in its email function, communicates with a dedicated host which in turn communicates with external servers according to standard internet protocol.

Abstract: There is provided a control apparatus and method for controlling a sound reproduction apparatus. The control apparatus and method enables control of at least one parameter of audio reproduction depending on contact with a touch sensitive panel. The parameters which may be controlled include, for example, volume, bass, treble, equalizer settings and the like. The functions of the sound reproduction apparatus which may be controlled include, for example, radio channel selection, track selection, album selection and the like.

A change from a lower to a higher degree involves moving a group of graphical objects including control stations closer to a condensation center point on a power line that is common for this group, and a change from a higher to a lower condensation degree involves moving the group away from the condensation center point.

An initial toolset of handles can evolve into a toolset with enhanced functionality. Selecting an object can invoke a first toolset. Pausing the pointer over an object for a preset length of time can invoke a second toolset with additional functionality. Continuing to maintain the pointer's stationary position over the object can invoke a third toolset. A rotation tool handle can rotate an object about an axis of rotation in response to pointer-based input. Moving a pointer over a rotation tool handles can invoke an axis-of-rotation tool for repositioning the axis of rotation using the pointer.

Abstract: In general, aspects of this disclosure are directed to techniques for predictive text correction and completion for text entry using virtual keyboards on touch-sensitive displays. A user may be able to type on a representation of a virtual keyboard displayed on touch-sensitive displays by contacting representations of virtual keys included in the virtual keyboard, and the word the user intended to type on the virtual keyboard may be predicted and displayed in place of characters associated with the virtual keys actually contacted by the user. In some examples of the present disclosure, a virtual spacebar key included in the virtual keyboard may be treated in a probabilistic fashion to determine whether a contact received by the touch-sensitive display is intended to select the virtual spacebar key to perform an autocorrect or autocomplete function.

Abstract: Techniques for changing a conversation topic between one or more users via a user-interface are provided. A request to change the conversation topic is obtained from the one or more users via the user-interface. An indicator is presented to the one or more users notifying the one or more users, via the user-interface, of the request to change the conversation topic. The conversation topic between the one or more users is changed in response to an affirmative act by at least one of a moderator, the one or more users, and a predefined condition.
