  • Patent number: 7606464
Abstract: A data stream inputted to the inventive system from the outside is supplied to a PID (packet ID) extracting circuit 1, in which a PID is detected from a transport stream TS regardless of whether the transport stream TS is a full transport stream TS or a partial transport stream TS. The PID extracting circuit 1 transmits the thus extracted PID and data stream to a TS replacing/deleting circuit 2. The TS replacing/deleting circuit 2 has n 188-byte buffers and is able to set replaced TS packets to the buffers. A control circuit 3 such as a CPU (central processing unit) designates m PIDs relative to the respective buffers and designates the respective PIDs as the PID of the packet to be deleted or the PID of the packet to be replaced. Then, the TS replacing/deleting circuit 2 compares the PID received from the PID extracting circuit 1 with the PID designated by the control circuit 3.

  • Patent number: 7596302
Abstract: A mobile terrestrial digital broadcast receiver is disclosed. With the arrival at a predetermined time before the starting time of a recording reserved program specified by arbitrary recording reservation information (hereinafter referred to as the intended recording reservation information), the broadcast is started to be received in preparation for the recording, and it is determined whether the area information contained in the received broadcast wave is identical with the area information in the intended recording reservation information. In the case where the area information contained in the received broadcast wave is different from the area information in the intended recording reservation information, a channel list is prepared, while at the same time determining whether a stream ID in the intended recording reservation information exists in the channel list prepared.

  • Patent number: 7587123
Abstract: An edit device performs editing based on image data L_IM, generates an edit decision list L_EDL indicating that content and transmits this to a video recording system. In the edit decision list L_EDL, as an instance number of UMID, “FF FF FF” is stored. The video recording system rewrites the instance number IN_N in UMID of the edit decision list L_EDL from “FF FF FF” to “00 00 00” to generate an edit decision list H_EDL.

  • Patent number: 7580610
Abstract: A hierarchical memory scheme capable of improving a hit rate for the segment containing the random access point rather than improving the overall hit rate of the cache, and a data playback scheme capable of automatically detecting positions that are potentially used as playback start indexes by the user and attaching indexes, are disclosed. The hierarchical storage device stores random access point segment information from which a possibility for each segment to contain a point that can potentially be random accessed in future can be estimated, and controls a selection of the selected segments to be stored in the cache storage device according to the random access point segment information.

  • Patent number: 7570869
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for defining entry points for a data stream, in particular a stream of audiovisual information. Entry points in the stream are defined at a predetermined interval. This may be a time interval, a byte interval or any other interval. It is an object of the invention to provide an entry point table having a limited size. This object is achieved by increasing the interval between entry points if the table exceeds a predetermined size. This size may be defined in bytes, in the number of entry points or even in the number of sub-tables. After redefinition of the interval between entry points, entry points are redefined. The invention also relates to an apparatus for defining the entry points and to a record carrier with a data stream incorporating entry points defined by the method according to the invention.

  • Patent number: 7565060
Abstract: For a large capacity recording medium, a user interface having high flexibility and enriched representation is accomplished. A flag that represents whether a play item has a multiple angle structure of which the play item is reproduced with a plurality of angles is described. In addition, a flag that represents whether the beginning of each decode unit is an angle switchable point is described. In a seamless multiple angle structure, the current angle can be switched without need to increase the number of interleave units. In a nonseamless multiple angle structure, with the flag, in a predetermined region on the rear end side of each angle, the current angle is prohibited from being switched. Thus, when a play item exits from the multiple angle, discontinuity in the reproduction can be prevented. In addition, with a flag that represents whether a sub play item should be reproduced not in synchronization with a main path, the sub play item of only audio data can be used as a BGM.

  • Patent number: 7558464
Abstract: Provided are a data editing apparatus, a data editing method and a data recording/reproducing apparatus which can easily reedit edited data recorded on a nonlinear-accessible recording medium. When a start point (IN point) or an end point (OUT point) of partial data of edited data to be reedited is specified, a controller controls a recorder and reproducer and HDDs so as to reproduce material data containing the partial data to be reedited in synchronization with operation for changing the specified start or end point of the partial data. Moreover, when operation for determining a new start or end point is performed in a state in which the material data is reproduced in synchronization with changing operation, the controller reedits the edited data in accordance with determining operation. During reediting, the controller reedits data on the basis of a temporary file. The controller reedits data while reproducing the same reproducing state as the reproducing state after reediting.
