  • Patent number: 4428181
Abstract: A device for mowing crop, particularly grass, mainly comprising a frame (1) movable across the field having a girder (4) pivotably (6) connected to a sub-frame (5) and extending transversely of the direction of movement (P1) above a cutter bar (9) with cutting members (10) wherein the outermost cutting member (10) provided with a crop dividing drum on top drives the further cutting members (10) through a transmission accommodated in the cutter bar (9) so simplifying the transfer of driving power from the main frame to the cutter bar and ensuring a free passing of cut crop over the cutting members; a spring member is arranged between the subframe (5) and the girder (4) at a distance from said pivot shaft (6) in order to adapt the pressure of the cutter bar on the field.

  • Patent number: 4422386
Abstract: A safe having an outer shell mainly of plastic material, an inner liner of metal, and a filling of heat-resistive material between the shell and the liner. The safe body has a separate cover or door across the top of the body, and when the door is removed, it allows unhampered access to the complete area of the liner, which constitutes the storage space for the articles to be protected. Both in the safe body and the separate door, the filling material is put in while in a flowable condition, and filling is stopped when the space is not quite full. The panel members which are then put in place to close the filling openings have projections which make contact with the filling material to give stability and firmness to the panel members even though large areas of the panel members may not be in contact with the filling material. A simple latch and key mechanism is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4416334
Abstract: Disclosed is a potato harvesting apparatus for removing practically all the dirt from harvested potatoes without bruising or damaging them. The apparatus has disk coulters that cut potato vines between rows, three each of primary, secondary and rubber-coated cylindrical cages arranged in order for harvesting material flow of the potatoes with the cages rotating at the same material-flow speed, a share that digs up the potatoes for pick up and transfer by the first primary cage, a cylinder raker to pick up and move excess vines, dirt and potatoes onto the second primary cage, shaker-tine assemblies that remove dirt and separate vines from the potatoes, a grinder suction fan that sucks up and deposits chopped up vines in the harvesting track where same are covered by dirt sifting down and through the cages that remove most of the dirt and break up the dirt clods.

  • Patent number: 4393560
Abstract: A clip for retaining molding to a predetermined inside face of a window glass receiving frame in an automotive body having a band-like support plate formed of an elastic material. The support plate includes a hook member formed integrally with the support plate to thereby define a spacing for insertion of the molding between the window glass receiving frame and the hook member and elastically engageable with the molding and a pair of wing plates formed at both outermost ends of the support plate and bent in a direction opposite to the retaining face of the support plate. The wing plates have a mechanism engageable with the support plate while the wing plates are bent substantially to 180.degree. and another mechanism effective to disengage the wing plates with the support plate, upon insertion of the molding in the spacing between the frame and the hook member of the clip.

  • Patent number: 4391085
Abstract: A harvester for shaking a grape vine to remove grapes therefrom. A harvesting vehicle includes a pivotally mounted picking head suspended over in straddling fashion a row of grape vines. A pair of swingably mounted and oppositely aligned contact members are reciprocated in unison back and forth against opposite sides of the grape vine. The contact members are driven by a pair of cranks in turn rotated by a motor. A pair of counterweights rotate in unison with but in an opposite direction by its associated crankshaft in turn driving the crank arm and contact member.

  • Patent number: 4370846
Abstract: A gang mower typically having five or seven gangs which are raised and lowered by a single piston and cylinder. Lifting arms are fixed to an actuating shaft at each side of the machine and the piston and cylinder are connected between opposed lifting arms to rotate them in opposite directions. An equalizer link connected by cranks to the actuating shafts ensures that the shafts always rotate to equal extents in opposite directions. Chains are connected from the lifting arms to the mowers, the chains and lifting arms being dimensioned so that lifting occurs sequentially, with some of the mowers being lifted before others. The sequential lifting spreads the load more evenly throughout the lifting sequence, thereby permitting a single piston and cylinder to lift all of the mowers.

  • Patent number: 4368609
Abstract: In a combine harvester header, a modified hydraulic cylinder for controlling reel height includes a cylinder rod sub-assembly having a threaded portion permitting rotation of the cylinder rod to make adjustment of the cylinder rod effective length for fine or supplementary adjustment of the harvester reel relative to the platform cutterbar. A dual purpose member, pivotably captive on a rotatable nut portion of the cylinder rod sub-assembly, is swingable between an approximately horizontal position in which it serves as a wrench handle for rotatably adjusting the cylinder rod threaded portion and, downwards, into a safety stop position where it is engageable with the end of the body of the hydraulic cylinder to prevent inadvertent lowering of the reel from a fully raised position.
