Upon determining that the at least one information item can be displayed in its entirety in the display region of the display screen, the digital assistant displays the at least one information item in the display region, where the display region and the object region are not visually distinguishable from one another. Upon determining that the at least one information item cannot be displayed in its entirety in the display region of the video display screen, the digital assistant displays a portion of the at least one information item in the display region, where the display region and the object region are visually distinguishable from one another.

Abstract: A system and method for assuring the privacy of a computer application includes generating a user interface with a privacy feature coupled with a computer application. Through the user interface, the user is able to activate the privacy feature while interacting with the computer application. The computer application displays application-based screen elements against a backdrop. Once activated, the privacy feature presents a visual display hiding the application-based screen elements in the application from view without closing or logging out of the application.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes determining available shows from one or more content sources, providing at least a portion of the available shows for display in a programming guide on a display device of a user, receiving a selection by the user of a particular entry in the programming guide, determining a plurality of modules for the particular show, and providing a show page that includes the determined modules for display on the display device in response to the selection by the user. The entries of the programming guide are each associated with one of the available shows. At least one of the determined modules includes social content from a social graph of the social-networking system.

Abstract: According to an example computer-implemented method, shared media content is presented to a plurality of users during a collaborative session, with the session including a plurality of events. A breadcrumb trail of events occurring during the collaborative session is created. For each of the events, a descriptor is determined for the event, and the event is tagged in the breadcrumb trail with the descriptor. Responsive to receipt of a descriptor selection, a filtered breadcrumb trail including only events tagged with the selected descriptor is presented.

In one scenario, a computer system receives a request to access configuration settings for hardware and/or software components. The request specifies at least one namespace for the corresponding hardware or software component. The computer system accesses a directory to determine which configuration settings are available for the specified namespace, and further accesses configuration metadata to determine where the configuration settings for the hardware or software components are stored and how the configuration settings are to be accessed.

Abstract: Technology is described for web-like hierarchical menu interface which displays a menu in a web-like hierarchical menu display configuration in a near-eye display (NED). The web-like hierarchical menu display configuration links menu levels and menu items within a menu level with flexible spatial dimensions for menu elements. One or more processors executing the interface select a web-like hierarchical menu display configuration based on the available menu space and user head view direction determined from a 3D mapping of the NED field of view data and stored user head comfort rules. Activation parameters in menu item selection criteria are adjusted to be user specific based on user head motion data tracked based on data from one or more sensors when the user wears the NED. Menu display layout may be triggered by changes in head view direction of the user and available menu space about the user's head.

A user interface provides a menu of functions to a user and successively receives a plurality of menu choices, which the processor records. A storage device holds data defining a first action criterion. The processor compares the menu choices to the first action criterion. When the stored menu choices satisfy the first action criterion, the processor can automatically add a first additional function to the menu of functions, or can automatically presents a reward token via the user interface. The system can also include a housing holding the user interface, the storage device, and the processor. Methods are also disclosed.

Abstract: Examples described herein include a computing system or environment that enables the user to acquire an option to re-transfer a purchased digital content item at a later date. Data corresponding to the option can be recorded and linked with the user. Subsequent requests from the user to re-transfer the digital content item can be permitted or denied based on whether the user is authorized by way of having acquired the corresponding option.
