Abstract: A telescoping wand safely encloses the control ends of a set of lift cords of vertically raisable “blinds” (as defined in the specification). The wand includes a selectively releasable cord locking mechanism which cooperates with a lift cord tensioner and a cord locking mechanism in the blinds' headrail to allow a user to raise and lower the blinds by one-handed operation of the wand. The blinds are raised by reciprocatingly moving an outer handle tube telescopically along a stationary inner tube. Each time the handle is pumped up and down, the blinds are raised a discrete amount. The wand's cord locking mechanism allows the lift cords to slip through the wand on the handle's upward stroke, but grabs and pulls the lift cords on the handle's downward stroke. Two or three quick pumps of the handle are all that is typically needed to fully raise a set of blinds.

Abstract: A multi-functional shading device includes a first shading arrangement including a top traverse supporter adapted for affixing to a top beam of a ceiling, a first shading arrangement downwardly extended from the top traverse supporter including a base member and a first operator for selectively lifting up the base member towards the traverse supporter and unlifting the base member to drop downwardly away from the traverse supporter, and a second shading arrangement including a base stabilizer, a translucent fabric, which is folded in a Z-shaped manner, downwardly extended from the base member to the base stabilizer, and a second operator for folding and unfolding the translucent fabric. Therefore, the first and second shading arrangements having different light intensity blocking abilities are adapted for selectively blocking lights passing through from one side to another side of the shading arrangements respectively.

Abstract: An interchangeable window covering system for providing a plurality of interchangeable widow coverings for a window. The interchangeable window covering system includes a frame member that is designed to be attached to a window, and a plurality of interchangeable window coverings designed to be selectively coupled to the frame member as desired.

Abstract: A curtain cover attachment for vertical blinds has flexible sheet material portions that fold over opposite sides of each vane of the blinds from a front edge thereof, the panel portions extending also between the vanes. The cover is supported by first tabs that fold over one end (the tops ) of the vanes opposite respective supportive stem portions thereof from the front edges, the tabs being secured by hook-loop fasteners that are hidden between the cover and the vanes. Additional tabs and associated fasteners can also be used between the stem portions and the front edges of the vanes, as well as at opposite ends of the vanes.

Abstract: Movement device (10) to selectively close blinds or jalousies oscillating in a wing (25) for doors or windows, comprising at least a movement rod (14) able to be constrained to the blinds or jalousies (12) and a plurality of connection elements (15) each one able to join the rod (14) to each of the blinds (12); the connection element (15) comprises a rotary element (15c) including at least a pin element (23) able to be inserted into a mating hole (20) made in the relative blind (12), an anchorage element (15a) including a body able to be inserted into a seating (16) made in the inner side of the rod (14) and an intermediate element (15b) able to connect the rotary element (15c) and the anchorage element (15a), and with respect to which intermediate element (15b) the rotary element (15c) is able to rotate during the movement of the blinds (12).

Abstract: A spring motor assembly for a Venetian blind includes a bracket formed with confronting insert grooves, a pair of insert plates inserted into the insert grooves, two parallel axles extending transversely between the insert plates, a storage drum mounted rotatably on one of the axles, co-axial and co-rotatable output drum and cord spool mounted rotatably on the other of the axles, and a coil spring extending between the storage drum and the output drum. The bracket is mounted on a top rail of the Venetian blind. The cord spool engages upper ends of two lifting cords of the Venetian blind. The coil spring is wound on at least one of the storage drum and the output drum, and is transferred from one of the drums to the other of the drums when a bottom bar of the Venetian blind is moved upwardly or downwardly relative to the top rail.

Abstract: Roller curtain with back rolling force, including: two end members; a locating mechanism connected with a first end member; a hollow reel positioned between the two end members with one end fitted on the locating mechanism, whereby the reel is drivingly rotatable by the locating mechanism for winding or unwinding the curtain; a fluid pressure cylinder in which the piston stem keeps outward extending in normal state, the pressure cylinder being fitted in the reel with the rear end connected with the second end member, the other end of the reel being rotatably fitted with the cylinder body; and a linking device disposed between the reel and the pressure cylinder for converting the rotational movement of the reel into linear movement of the piston stem. When the reel rotates to unwind the curtain, the linking device retracts the piston stem into the cylinder body to reserve a pressure source in the pressure cylinder.

Abstract: A shaft support for vertical blinds wherein a swing arm automatically extends to span the head rail space in order to support the cords and tilt rod in the head rail as the carrier assembly retracts to open the blind. This swing arm automatically stows away along the head rail when the carrier assembly extends to close the blind so as not to interfere with the motion of the carrier assembly. The automatic operation of this shaft support is such that the mechanism is self correcting in the event that it is installed incorrectly or that it is accidentally moved to an incorrect position during operation.

Abstract: A louver laminated with a very thin film (i.e. a transfer film, very thin layer, etc . . . ) for use in the construction of window blinds such as Venetian blinds, and the like, the louver having opposed top and bottom surfaces, as well as opposed first and second side surfaces each laminated with a very thin film. More particularly, the film is so thin, that the boundary edges of the film, once laminated to a surface of the louver, are imperceptible to human touch, i.e. they are tactilely invisible. An apparatus and method for making a louver laminated with a very thin film is further proposed.

Abstract: An adjustable window covering apparatus that allows a user to install an adjustable window covering apparatus without the use of measuring tools, levelers or drills. The adjustable window covering apparatus includes a frame that is adapted for engaging a floor of a building proximate the window such that the frame is positioned in front of the window. A covering member is coupled to the frame. The covering member has an area for covering the window. The covering member is adapted for inhibiting viewing into the building from outside the building when the frame is positioned proximate the window of the building.

Abstract: A screen, typically for use as a wardrobe or closet door, is disclosed. The screen has a flexible member mountable within a frame, one or more of the corners of the frame being provided with cam arrangements for varying the length of the frame in order to vary the tension in the sheet member.

Abstract: A shade comprising a fabric having divider strips dividing the fabric into panels of predetermined outline, each strip being sewn or otherwise secured directly to the fabric in fixed relation thereto and draw cords extending in operative relation to the divider strip so that the divider strips form focal lines for folding of the sheet of fabric as the cords are drawn.

Abstract: A hanging material such as a curtain is provided with openings each having a slit therein for attachment to a fixed rod. Each opening is reinforced with rings having projecting flanges extending beyond the ring away from the curtain. The projecting flanges of the rings makes it easier to open up the ring thereby facilitating the placement of the curtain upon the fixed rod.

Abstract: The present invention is a modular exhibit assembly adapted for rapid set up and breakdown, having interlocking rectangular framing sections each with independently attached and replaceable overlay skins. The rectangular framing sections are connected by abutting hollow peripheral members, placing one insert filler within each peripheral member, fastening the insert filler to the member by a socket set screw assembly, and engaging a rotatable latching member of one insert filler to a latching receptacle member of a second insert filler, thereby interlocking the two peripheral members. Overlay holders are attached to a framing member, or placed and secured between the interlocking peripheral members, and overlay skins are attached to the framing members by inserting the overlay skins into the overlay holders.

Abstract: An awning assembly adapted to automatically lower an edge of a canopy under a predetermined weight collected on the canopy to remove some of the collected weight from the canopy and thereafter return the canopy to its original position. The awning assembly includes an arm assemblies comprising a vertically extending base arm secured at the wall, a bottom arm having a first end pivotally connected to the base arm, an extended arm having a first end pivotally connected to the bottom arm and a second end supporting the awning arm, and a top arm having a first end pivotally connected to the extended arm. Another arrangement for the arm assemblies includes a rafter arm having an inner end pivotally connected to the wall and an outer end pivotally connected to the a support arm, the support arm has an outer end connected to and supporting the awning arm and an inner end removably connected to the wall.

Abstract: A dust cover comprises a plurality of shied plates which are equal in shape and progressively reduced in size. The shield plates are joined together such that they expand and retract along an axial direction; a linking device formed of a plurality of link rod units which have two rod members equal in length. The two rod members are pivoted together at the midpoint such that two ends of the two rod members form a pair of opening-closing arms. Two arms of each one end of each link rod unit are pivoted with two arms of other link rod unit to form two pivoting points pivoted in the lower side of the same shield plate.

Abstract: A shower curtain assembly 10 which encloses a shower enclosure 20 and can be selectively and vertically raised or lowered. The shower curtain assembly 10 includes a support structure 11 which engages a pair of walls 24, 25 defining the shower enclosure 20, an elongated member 9 which is held by said support structure 11, a curtain 13 which is attached to said elongated member 9, and a weighted bottom member 14 which is attached to the bottom of curtain 13 and which selectively and sealingly engages the bottom surface of the shower enclosure 20.

Abstract: The subject invention is a holder for a window-shade cord to securely hold the cord in a temporarily stored position to prevent entanglement by the cord, particularly with a child, with the holder being structured to hold a portion of the cord as wound around two separated cord reel members on such holder, with the reel members being peripherally formed to permit circumferential movement of the temporarily encircled cord portion about such reel members as necessary to adjust the length of the cord on such cord holder.

Abstract: A self-locking curtain clip for slidably suspending, with like clips, a curtain on an overhead curtain rod, includes a pair of substantially rigid legs defining top ends and bottom ends, the legs being configured and dimensioned to extend cooperatively around a curtain rod and through an aperture in a curtain for suspending the curtain from the rod. A connector pivotally secures the legs together adjacent the top ends, and a spring biases the bottom ends towards one another. Automatic fasteners are provided for locking the bottom ends together when the clip suspends a curtain and for unlocking the bottom ends when the clip is not suspending a curtain, as are manually operable wings for overcoming the biasing spring to spread the bottom ends apart when the bottom ends are not locked together.

Abstract: In an awning having a substantially triangular awning fabric that can be wound onto a roller tube, provision is made for the roller tube to be actuated in the winding direction by a torsion spring that is disposed in a housing together with the roller tube; for the roller tube to be actuated in the pull-out direction by an electric motor that is disposed in the same housing; for a guide rail to be disposed on one end of the housing and a spacer rail to be disposed on the other end of the housing, said guide rail and spacer rail being connected in the region of their free outer ends to one another or to a window frame; for a deflection roller to be disposed in the connecting region of the spacer rail and guide rail; and for a rope or the like to be attached in the region of the triangular cloth tip and deflected via the deflection roller and guided along the guide rail to a rope sheave on the motor.
