Abstract: A foldable, portable co-sleeper bassinet or apparatus is described. The bassinet, in some embodiments, is transformable into two different configurations, by collapsing or extending the walls of the apparatus. For example, the co-sleeper apparatus may include collapsible wall panels that, when collapsed, enable an easy, lying-down open position, but which can extend back up to a walled position to secure a baby in the bassinet.

Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and corresponding and/or associated methodology for door barricade systems which may be activated from inside an enclosure (or room) while still maintaining controlled serviceability or access to the enclosure from outside of the enclosure. Per some embodiments, bolts passed through a doorframe as a retrofit feature may support an interior plate which has a channel or passage for receipt of a manually removable door block member. The bolts are secured by an exterior plate and custom nuts which have customized drive surfaces. Corresponding custom drive head features interface with the custom nuts for either installation or removal of the door barricade system, even if the door block member is in place. Corresponding hole features on the custom nuts match with custom drive head pin features to provide an effective keyed entrance, which is hardened against forced entry if a person outside the secured room does not have the appropriate custom drive head.

Abstract: A bassinet includes a base, a column assembly rotatably connected to the base at a first end of the column assembly, an arm rotatably connected to a second end of the column assembly, a tub frame pivotably connected to the arm, an infant tub retained within the tub frame, the infant tub including a front wall, a back wall, and two side walls and having areas of reduced height along the front wall and at least one of the side walls to provide enhanced access to the infant located within the infant tub, and an insert configured to reversibly fit within an interior of the infant tub.

Abstract: There is provided a weight bearing device for being located overhead to support the weight of a load applied to the device in use. Embodiments comprise a reel for winding up or unwinding a support belt for supporting the load, the reel being rotatable about a first axis of rotation. An actuator element is provided for being driven about a second axis of rotation to drive a locking mechanism to lock the reel against unwinding of the support belt when the weight of the load is applied to the support belt. The reel is released by the locking mechanism when the weight of the load is removed from the support belt. Methods for use of the device are also provided.

Abstract: A bassinet apparatus having a base with first and second elongate support members parallel to each other. Lower portions of first and second side support member are slideably engaged respectively on the first and second elongate support members. Upper portions of the first and second side support members pivotally engage first and second bassinet support members extending from the upper portion of the first side support member to the upper portion of the second side support member. A bassinet receptacle depends from the first and second bassinet support members.

Abstract: A pocket spring mattress for use in a bedding or seating product is disclosed. The mattress comprises a plurality of interconnected coil springs enclosed in continuous covers forming strings of pockets accommodating the coil springs. Adjacent coil springs within each string are spaced apart by an interjacent separation distance, said separation distance exceeding at least 20 percent of the diameter of the largest one of the spiral turns of the adjacent coil springs. Further, the pocket spring mattress further comprises a cushioning pad located above the upper end of each coil spring, wherein the covers provides first compartments enclosing the coil springs, and second compartments enclosing the cushioning pads, said first and second compartments being separated from each other. The cushioning pads each have a length extension in the longitudinal direction of the strings exceeding the diameter of the largest one of the spiral turns of the corresponding coil spring.

Abstract: A bed covering system adapted to be used by a user to stay comfortable during sleep. The bed covering system includes a blanket and a pillowcase. The blanket has different heat retention zones of at least one section of heavy material and at least one section of lighter material. The heavy material is of material that retains body heat of the user. The lighter material is of a material that allows the escape of body heat of the user and allows circulation of body heat of the user. The heavy material has a higher weave count to trap and retain heat, and the lighter material is of thinner materials that permits more evaporation from a body of a user than the heavy material.

Abstract: A bed frame having a solid deck for a convertible sofa is provided. The bed frame comprises a pair of side rails and a bottom rail. The bed frame comprises at least a torso frame and a foot frame where the foot frame folds and unfolds with the torso frame to place the convertible sofa in the sofa configuration (folds) or the sleeping configuration (unfolds). The bed frame has at least one solid deck coupled to the torso frame of the bed frame.

Abstract: A seat comprising: an attachment bracket; a seat hub rotatably attached to the attachment bracket in a first axis; a first locking mechanism operable to place the seat hub between a first position and a second position; a seat arm swivably attached to the seat hub in a second axis, wherein the second axis is substantially orthogonal to the first axis; a seating pad rotatably attached to the seat arm in a third axis, wherein the seating pad is caused to pivot into a sitting position; a second locking mechanism operable to maintain the seating pad in the sitting position.

Abstract: The present bed bumper apparatus includes an elongate body that is resilient and flexible, an inner cover enclosing an entirety of the elongate body such that the elongate body is removable from the inner cover only by destroying an integrity of the inner cover, an outer cover enclosing an entirety of the inner cover having the elongate body, and a flexible strap engaged to the outer cover and having a quick release buckle and length adjuster such that the bed bumper can be engaged to a mattress at an edge of the mattress to minimize a person from rolling off the mattress.

Abstract: A bed system includes microclimate control capabilities for providing quality sleep experience. The bed system can include a microclimate control subsystem configured to supply conditioned air (e.g., heated or cooled air) to a mattress, or draw ambient air from the mattress, to achieve a desired temperature at the top of the mattress. Utilizing supply of conditioned air to provide air at desired temperature to the mattress system, or utilizing air suction to drain heat away from the mattress system, can provide precise microclimate control at the mattress, thereby permitting conformable sleep.

Abstract: A foundation for a bed system can include an actuator, a deck mechanism operably related to the actuator so as to be actuated between raised and lowered positions in response to actuation by the actuator, and a controller operably connected to the actuator and configured to drive the actuator to actuate the deck mechanism between a lower position and an upper position. The deck mechanism can be configured to move to a service position that is further than the upper position. The deck mechanism can expose and permit access to a serviceable component when the deck mechanism is in the service position. A method of using a foundation having a service position is also described.

Abstract: A mattress having variable height and hardness is disclosed. The mattress comprises a base layer held by a mattress cover using an extendable attachment system. The mattress further comprises one or more top layers made of resilient material which are stacked on top of the base layer. Only friction between the material of the top layers limit the lateral or longitudinal movements of a layer with regard to another layer.

Abstract: A cover for an infant confining device having a bottom, four sides, and an open top is described. The cover includes a body formed of a dark stretchable material and having at least one side with a top and bottom portion. The body is configured to stretch around the four sides of the infant confining device such that the top portion extends over the open top and the bottom portion extends to the bottom. The cover includes a roof flap of dark non-stretchable material with four sides. One side of the roof flap is coupled with the top portion of the body while the rest are unattached and larger than the infant confining device. The unattached sides of the roof flap drape over the top portion of the at least one side of the body and respective sides of the infant confining device.

A first electronic reader is coupled to the sling bar near the first attachment hook. A second electronic reader is coupled to the sling bar near the second attachment hook. Each of a plurality of short range wireless tags is coupled to a respective one of the plurality of loops.

Abstract: A bed according to an embodiment may include a topper, at least one firmness adjuster provided under the topper, and a bedframe configured to have an adjustable position and to support the firmness adjuster. There may be a plurality of firmness adjusters corresponding to a plurality of areas of the bed, and each firmness adjuster may include a plurality of cushions provided in a cushion case and a drive to adjust the firmness of the plurality of cushions. The drive may change a position of a first spring relative to a second spring in each of the cushions to change a perceived firmness by a user lying on top of the topper and the firmness adjusters. A dryer may be provided under the bedframe to keep the cushions and topper dry.

Abstract: A mattress embodying a removable exterior top and interchangeable segments (e.g. foam) positioned above a mattress base support portion and below the removable exterior top. The removable exterior top may be replaced with new or different removable exterior tops.
