Abstract: An intermediary device configured for request and response traffic of an application detects an unadvertised network parameter setting of an implementation node of the application. Based on the detected setting, the intermediary device computes a new value for a networking parameter of the intermediary device, and sets the parameter to the new value.

Abstract: A server device configured to communicate, via a communication network, with at least one device including a learner configured to perform processing by using a learned model, includes processor, a transmitter, and a storage configured to store a plurality of shared models pre-learned in accordance with environments and conditions of various devices. The processor is configured to acquire device data including information on an environment and conditions from the at least one device, and select an optimum shared model for the at least one device based on the acquired device data. The transmitter is configured to transmit a selected shared model to the at least one device.

Abstract: A network configuration diagram generate method executed by a computer, the method includes identifying, in a predetermined system in which a plurality of virtual machines are used, a location where each of the plurality of virtual machines is located and a communication destination with which each of the plurality of virtual machines communicates; determining, for each change in a configuration of the predetermined system, a relationship of a communication distance between the plurality of virtual machines by using the location and the communication destination, the configuration indicating a relationship of the plurality of virtual machines; extracting a difference between the relationship of the communication distance before the configuration change and the relationship of the communication distance after the configuration change; and generating a network configuration diagram in which the extracted difference is indicated.

Abstract: A method and system for categorizing Internet Protocol (IP) based network traffic is configured to monitor domain name system (DNS) transactions between at least one customer device and a DNS service. The DNS transactions are used to populate a data table, which is used to enrich a data record (e.g., IPDR). In particular, an IP address and/or customer ID in the data record is used to look up the corresponding domain name in the data table, which is added to the data record. The enriched data record is used to categorize the IP traffic.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods related to on-boarding software applications on a platform used in a content delivery and/or service provider network. In one embodiment, a centralized platform such as a premises gateway is provided to act as an application portal or store for all consumer devices that connects to a service provider network. In one variant, a software architecture is provided for the gateway which includes at least one of an open-sourced OS (e.g., OpenWrt) and containerization engine (e.g., Docker) which enables a broader range of application compatibility with the gateway itself and end user devices within the premises by abstracting the services and functions above the specific hardware/firmware configurations of each of the end user devices.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to application deployment in a multi-cluster environment. In an embodiment, a computer-implemented method is disclosed. According to the method, first information about a resource requirement of an application is sent to a plurality of managed computing clusters. A plurality of predicted deployment results are received from the plurality of managed computing clusters, which indicate whether the application is to be partially or fully and successfully deployed on the plurality of managed computing clusters. In accordance with a determination, from the plurality of predicted deployment results, that a plurality of functions of the application fail to be deployed on a single managed computing cluster, at least two managed computing clusters are selected from the plurality of managed computing clusters and the application is deployed on the at least two managed computing clusters. The method further comprises assembling a candidate set of resources to provision the SDN Datapath and initiating provision of the SDN Datapath using resources selected from the candidate set. Assembling a candidate set of resources to provision the SDN Datapath comprises obtaining a geographic location attribute of resources in the SDN and populating the candidate set with those resources having a geographic location attribute satisfying the received geographic constraint.

Abstract: Heuristic based approach to authentication of requests in a stateless protocol environment. Heuristics may be applied to a request to calculate a trust level for the request. The trust level for a request may at least in part be based on request parameters for the request and one or more previously received requests in a user context profile. Thus, historical request metadata may be used in calculating a trust value of a received request. If the trust value for a request exceeds a trust threshold, the request may be authenticated without forwarding the request to an authentication server. Thus, for requests in which the trust value exceeds the trust threshold, system performance may be improved by not requiring computational overhead and/or network bandwidth to be used in authentication. In this regard, the format of the request may still comport with the stateless protocol, but authentication may be made more efficient.
