Abstract: The invention relates to a clamping apparatus for installing a spare tire on a vehicle body. The clamping apparatus includes a bracket provided on the body; a retainer for pressing the spare tire in the direction of the body; a bolt having on its distal end side a first screwing portion for engaging with the bracket and on its proximal side a second screwing portion for engaging with the pressing member; and a stopper provided on the proximal end side of the first screwing portion. The frictional resistance of the first screwing portion is formed such as to be smaller than that of the second screwing portion.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a molded drum of thermoplastic material, in which the bungs are arranged in troughs on the drum-head and in which the troughs are open toward an adjacent L-shaped roller chime formed directly from the drum-body at some distance below the top end of the drum.

Abstract: A cross rail for forming a load-bearing rack of a luggage carrier which is detachably secured to the side members that form the fixed frame of the carrier. The frame is supported above the surface of the vehicle and the load-bearing surface is suspended between the frame and the body of the vehicle. The individual cross members include an elongated cross rail member with T-shaped end caps secured to each end of the member to which individual clamps are pivotaly secured. Each clamp includes an upper clamp member, a lower clamp member received by the upper clamp member, and a bolt which connects the two clamp members in adjustable relation to each other. The two clamp members form a substantially C-shaped clamping channel which is adjustable by rotating the bolt accordingly. Thus, the cross member is capable of being utilized with different frame sizes simply by adjusting the clamping channel.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a fowl call holder attachable about the wrist of a hunter wherein a flexible strap has a major portion and a minor portion. An elastic expandable strip is stitched at each end to said major and minor portion of the flexible strap, and an elastic all encircling strap loop resiliently snugly engages about the fowl call to retain it on the strap. Complemental Velcro adhesive surfaces on the major and minor portions of the flexible strap secure the strap about the wrist of the hunter with only minor expansion of the strap permitted by said elastic expandable strip between said major and minor portion.

Abstract: A basket assembly which provides for quick and easy detachment of a basket from a basket supporting bracket mounted to a bicycle includes locking elements selectively interconnecting the handle of the basket to the basket supporting bracket for releasably locking the basket to the basket supporting bracket. The locking elements include a slotted locking bracket which is mounted to the basket supporting bracket, and an elongated leg formed at each end of the basket handle. The handle is movable between an upright position in which the elongated leg is aligned with and insertable into the slot of the locking bracket, and a horizontal position in which the elongated leg is moved perpendicular to the slot. The basket is easily removed from the basket supporting bracket with the handle in an upright, unlocked position, and locked securely to the basket supporting bracket with the handle in a horizontal, locked position.

Abstract: A rectangular base has a rigid board supporting a removable mattress pad. Sides and ends consist of non-allergenic foam between two panels of a polyester and cotton material. Side handles are situated on the side at approximately the center of gravity of the carrier and a padded or cloth cover is attached around the major portion of the upper ends of the sides and one end of the carrier. A padded hood is detachably secured on the other end of the carrier by snap fasteners and this hood can be removed and stored around said other end and the underside of the carrier and may be secured by the same snap fasteners.

Abstract: A remailable envelope is disclosed which comprises first and second extensions attached to the front and rear panels and first and second closure flaps attached to the first and second extensions. The nominal height of the rear wall is greater than the nominal height of the front wall, however, by selectively folding the envelope panels about the score lines provided for the first and second extensions, and first and second closure flaps, the envelope structure for the remailing can be made smaller than the envelope structure for the first mailing use.

Abstract: An anti-theft, portable clamp-on storage container for mounting in the load bed of a pickup truck comprises relatively movable top and bottom container sections which close to form an enclosure for goods. A screw clamp having an inverted U-shaped fixed jaw and a screw actuated movable jaw cooperable therewith is mounted with the inverted U-shaped fixed jaw supported exteriorly of the container bottom section and with the screw actuator for the movable jaw extending inside of the container. The fixed jaw is positioned to slide down over one of the side or end panels of the pickup truck load bed when the container is lowered into the floor of the load bed from above. A handle for turning the screw actuator is provided on the end of the screw actuator which is inside of the container so that the screw actuator can only be turned when the container is open.

Abstract: A beverage holder for supporting both the bottom surface and the sides of a container includes a housing mounted within a vertical panel of the vehicle body and having spaced apart side walls defining a narrow vertical slot. A plastic retainer includes a narrow spine portion having an end pivoted to the housing at the bottom of the narrow slot to mount the spine for movement between a vertical position stored inside the housing and a deployed position extending horizontally outward from the face of the panel and defining a narrow shelf for supporting the bottom surface of the container. The retainer also has a pair of plastic support wings connected to the spine and extending above the spine. The wings are yieldable relative one another to spaced apart positions by which the wings resiliently cradle the walls of the beverage container to balance the beverage container on the spine.

Abstract: An automobile roof carrier (10) includes an elongated carrier bar (12) transversely extending across the roof (18) of an automobile. The carrier bar (12) is supported at each end by a fastening device (14) which is attached to a generally trough-shaped rain gutter (20) on a lateral border of the roof (18). The fastening device (14) includes a supporting leg (22) having an upper portion (24) connected to the carrier bar (12). The supporting leg (22) also has a lower portion (26) connected to the rain gutter trough (20). The lower portion (26) is pivotally connected to the upper portion (24) so that the lower portion has two degrees of pivotal movement relative to the upper portion. An interchangeable article carrier (16) is mounted to the top of the carrier bar (12).

Abstract: In a roof rack fastening arrangement for motor vehicle bodies, having a longitudinal flat roof gutter which forms a covered drip molding and is covered by a decorative strip towards the outside and in which bracket shaped holding plates for the supporting feet of a roof rack are secured at specific positions, bracket shaped holding plates are provided on both sides of their central raised bracket portion with supporting flanges which are raised on one longitudinal side and on which the supporting feet of a roof rack rest and on the supporting feet Z-shaped clamping fittings are supported which can be tensioned by way of fastening screws and which are supported below their fastening screw on the supporting feet in such a way that they engage with their holding flanges under the raised bracket portion from the inside and by tightening the fastening screw they tension the supporting feet downwardly and outwardly.

Abstract: An easily drawn shoulder holster primarily intended to retain automatic handguns having upward, rearwardly extending hammer cover assemblies. The holster includes a folded, multilayer sheath with an inner layer of leather, an outer layer of leather and a central stiffening layer, preferably of metal. The sheath covers the body of the handgun including its hammer cover while allowing the butt pointed to the front, and the barrel pointed downwardly, to extend therefrom. A redundant spring extends across the front of the trigger guard of the handgun to urge the hammer cover assembly up into a downwardly facing, upper pocket in the sheath for retention of the handgun.

Abstract: A bracket assembly for supporting detachable, roof-top automotive, carrying racks of the type usually secured to vehicle rain gutters is disclosed. The bracket assembly may be used on vehicles having no rain gutters and includes a bracket plate member having a generally planar portion and a flange portion which is formed to have a generally W-shaped cross section that extends away from the planar portion for releasable coupling of rack mounting assembly thereto. The shape of the flange allows the bracket assembly to be used to anchor a roof-top rack to either a side wall or the roof of a vehicle.

Abstract: A bag for mounting on the cross bar of a bicycle. The bag includes flap portions unitary with the bag walls and extending above the bag pocket. The flap portion on one wall being wrapped around the bicycle cross bar and joined together by hook and loop fastener materials to support the bag and its contents. The flap portion on the other wall folds over the top opening of the bag and fastens to the flap on the first wall thereby covering the opening.
