  • Patent number: 5056410
Abstract: A firearm recoil absorbing device for supporting a firearm during firing includes nested inner and outer frames. The inner frame is slidably connected to the outer frame by plural rollers for relative sliding motion between the nested frames. Each frame includes two opposing sidewalls interconnected by opposing front and rear walls. A stop is mounted to the outer frame and extends into the inner frame. The stop divides the space within the inner frame into a recoil chamber and a return chamber located respectively toward the front and rear walls. One or more rods, mounted to the inner frame front wall, extends parallel to the sidewalls of each frame and slidably through the stop and the rear walls of each frame. A recoil spring surrounds the rod in the recoil chamber and a return spring surrounds the rod in the return chamber.

  • Patent number: 5054367
Abstract: An ammunition positioner for upright ammunition shells has an arm mounted on a base, capable of being extended parallel to the plane that the shell stands on. The positioner has a pincher-like pickup with two jaws that pivots parallel to that plane. The pickup and its jaws are both controlled by a motor that is secured to the base. The motor's output wheel is coupled to the intake wheel of a transmission by way of a rotating splined shaft and a hollow shaft. The splined shaft is mounted in the base and parallel to the positioning arm. The hollow shaft is coaxial with the splined shaft and is mounted in and parallel to the positioning arm. A sleeve travels back and forth on the splined shaft and couples the hollow shaft to the splined shaft such that the former will rotate along with the latter. The transmission has two cogwheels, one of which is always coupled to the intake wheel and the other of which is coupled to and can be uncoupled from the intake wheel by a gear that can be disengaged.

  • Patent number: 5050475
Abstract: An apparatus to recondition used ammunition cartridge cases in order that they can be reloaded and reused. A stand includes a base and an upright column. A plurality of bearing sleeves are located in the column disposed about parallel horizontal axes. A plurality of tool holders have shafts that are rotatably assembled in the column. The tool holders carry cartridge case reconditioning tools of the type that operate upon a cartridge case upon rotation with respect to it. The tool holder shafts are interconnected by circular gears. The rotation of one shaft results in rotation of the other shafts. A crank is connected to one of the shafts for rotation of all of the shafts. One of the cartridge case reconditioning tools is for deburring the inside mouth of the case, another is for deburring the outside mouth of the case, and a third is for cleaning the primer pocket.

  • Patent number: 5048392
Abstract: An elevating bearing for a large-caliber weapon accommodated in the turret of a tank, with a slant-ring bearing around the tube. The tube is mounted in a bearing ring that rotates around the axis of the tube and is itself mounted on another bearing ring and rotates around an axis at an angle to the axis of the tube. The second bearing ring rotates in the turret around another axis at an angle to the first axis. The angle between the first and the second axes of rotation equals the angle between the first axis of rotation and the axis of the tube. Both bearing rings can be driven around their axes of rotation. The slant-ring bearing is a subassembly inside the turret and the flange that secures the second bearing ring is secured stationary to the turret. The flange that the tube is mounted on and that secures the first bearing ring is secured non-rotating to the turret.
