Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for a database management system to be operatively coupled to a data processing system. The data processing system includes memory for storing a data table. The method, system and computer program product for determining frequency of updating a histogram of the data table. The method includes determining sampled histograms for sample portions of the data table from time to time, computing a difference between at least two of the determined sampled histograms, and determining a frequency with which to update the histogram of the data table depending on the amount of the computed difference.

Abstract: Incremental application deployment allows any files under development for an application to be modified directly in place, such as on a server disk. Application and module configuration information can be collected from a user as they build their application. Each time a developer modifies the configuration of the application, changes can be immediately deployed to the server in the background, including appropriate modifications to the deployment descriptors. Once modifications are completed, the application can have already been deployed to the server. This description is not intended to be a complete description of, or limit the scope of, the invention. Other features, aspects, and objects of the invention can be obtained from a review of the specification, the figures, and the claims.

Abstract: A computer data processing system including a central processing unit configured with a novel integrated computer control software system for the management of data objects including dynamic and automatic organization, linking, finding, cross-referencing, viewing and retrieval of multiple objects regardless of nature or source. The inventive system provides underlying component architecture having an object-oriented database structure and a metadata database structure which is unique in storing only one instance of each object while linking the object to multiple collections and domains by unique metadata links for the grouping into and retrieval from any of the collections. The system employs configurable, extensible attribute/properties of data objects in metadata format, and a truly user-friendly configurable interface that facilitates faster, more unified, comprehensive, useful and meaningful information management.
Abstract: A user's access to content may be managed by determining a mood originating point for a present track for a user, with the mood originating point being related to a mood indicator for the present track, identifying a mood destination for a user playlist, the mood destination being related to a mood indicator for an end track that is targeted for the user, and calculating a mood transition from the mood originating point to the mood destination. The mood transition includes one or more intermediary tracks between the mood destination and the mood originating point, such that a quantified mood transition between two tracks in a user playlist including the present track, the intermediary tracks, and the end track, is less than an identified mood transition threshold.
Abstract: A method for performing multiple merge operations with a source data structure and a plurality of destination data structures, in which the source data structure is scanned one time in order to obtain source data that is then used for multiple merge operations. The source data is then used consecutively in order to merge the source data into the one or more destination data structures. Each merge is performed using the same scan of the source data structure and within the same execution of a database command.

Abstract: An integrated human and computer interactive data mining method receives an input database. A learning, modeling, and analysis method uses the database to create an initial knowledge model. A query of the initial knowledge model is performed using a query request. The initial knowledge model is processed to create a knowledge presentation output for visualization. It further comprises a feedback and update request step that updates the initial knowledge model. A multiple level integrated human and computer interactive data mining method facilitates overview interactive data mining and dynamic learning and knowledge representation by using the initial knowledge model and the database to create and update a presentable knowledge model. It facilitates zoom and filter interactive data mining and dynamic learning and knowledge representation by using the presentable knowledge model and the database to create and update the presentable knowledge model.
