  • Patent number: 12104323
Abstract: A seamed press felt formed from a base fabric having a CD and an MD with opposing MD ends that are joined to form a continuous belt. MD oriented yarns form uniform loops at the opposing MD ends that are interdigitated to define a pintle channel extending across the CD width. CD oriented yarns are connected to the MD oriented yarns, in a woven or non-woven construction. Loop open spaces are located within the loops at the MD ends in a seam region, with the loop open spaces being between the last CD yarn at each MD end and the pintle channel. At least one CD monofilament support yarn is located in the loop open spaces at the MD ends. The at least one CD monofilament support yarn has a diameter that is at least 1.6 times a diameter of the CD oriented yarns.

  • Patent number: 12104321
Abstract: An oxygen bleaching method of pulp includes the steps of: adding a solution formulated by a magnesium salt and an activator to an unbleached chemical pulp, stirring to be mixed well, and bleaching by introducing oxygen. The activators are nano zero-valent metals that are conventional, low-cost, and recyclable. These activators can activate low-concentration oxygen at low-temperature in neutral aqueous solution to efficiently generate peroxide anion radicals, so as to promote the generation of hydroperoxide anions and peroxide ions, achieving high efficient delignification. The whole process does not generate waste water, the oxygen consumption is only 50-85% of the original process, the yield is increased by 1.5-2.8% compared with the original system, the pulp brightness is increased to 28-32° SR, and the magnesium salt can be recycled and reused.

  • Patent number: 12077915
Abstract: The present invention provides a pulp product (e.g., paper) comprising cellulose and nanocellulose, wherein the nanocellulose is derived from the cellulose in a mechanical and/or chemical step that is separate from the main pulping process. The pulping process may be thermomechanical pulping or hydrothermal-mechanical pulping, for example. The pulp product is stronger and smoother with the presence of the nanocellulose. The nanocellulose further can function as a retention aid, for a step of forming the pulp product (e.g., in a paper machine). Other embodiments provide a corrugated medium pulp composition comprising cellulose pulp and nanocellulose, wherein the nanocellulose includes cellulose nanofibrils and/or cellulose nanocrystals and the nanocellulose may be hydrophobic. The nanocellulose improves the strength properties of the corrugated medium. In some embodiments, the cellulose pulp is a GreenBox+® pulp and the nanocellulose is derived from the AVAP® process.

  • Patent number: 12041965
Abstract: A hookah heating device comprises a charcoal tray and a tobacco bowl. The tray has a base and a barrier, each with an air flow passage. A central column connects the base to a smoke pipe, and the bowl is detachably connected to the column. A hood is placed on top of the bowl. The barrier's exterior has a movable cover body to adjust the second passage size. When fully covered, a first chamber forms between the base and the bowl's bottom. By adjusting the cover body, the burning intensity of the charcoal can be controlled, regulating the tobacco's heating temperature. The bowl's design above the tray maximizes the utilization of the charcoal's released heat.
