  • Patent number: 9469338
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a system for machine cutting several parts (31, 32, 33, 34) out of a piece of material using a beam cutting technology. The invention provides a set of controlling rules and variables for cutting two dimensional shapes or patterns. One rule or a combination of several rules are used for the cutting operation depending on the shape or pattern to be cut, the shape or pattern forming the parts (31, 32, 33, 34) out of the piece of material. The present invention specifically teaches that the set of controlling rules comprises rules for the forming of a cluster (3A) of parts with free form shapes, the parts being positioned so close to each other so that only the thickness of one cut from the cutting beam is found between adjacent parts whenever the shape of the parts allows it.

  • Patent number: 9465382
Abstract: An embedded system is disclosed. The embedded system is used for preventing a processing machine from an abnormal phenomenon when at least one processing parameter setting value is inputted into the processing machine. The embedded system is electrically connected to the processing machine, and the processing machine comprises an input interface, a first storing medium, a first controller and a stepper motor. The embedded system comprises a second storing medium and a second controller. The second controller captures the a processing parameter setting value inputted and compares it with a security range, so as to determine whether the processing machine is able to perform process for a workpiece. When the second controller determines that the processing machine is not able to perform process for the workpiece, a stop signal is generated and transmitted to the processing machine to stop performing process for the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 9442165
Abstract: A management framework is disclosed that achieves maximum energy storage device lifetime based on energy storage device life estimation and the price of energy. The management framework includes a battery life estimation from a supercycle model, for a time window between two consecutive full charges of a battery, which allows assessing a worst case scenario impact of all partial cycles within a supercycle on the battery life. The battery life estimation then considers each supercycle as a single discharge unit instead of treating each individual discharge period separately.

  • Patent number: 9419437
Abstract: A distributed energy resource (DER) exchanges with each neighboring DER portions of the total demand for power accumulated by the DER and each neighboring DER and portions of a total capability of the network to generate the total power accumulated by the DER and each neighboring DER before each communication step. The DER updates the portion of the total demand for power and total capability accumulated by the DER using the portions of the total demand and the portions of the total capability received from the neighboring DERs. After the fixed number of communication steps, the DER accumulates the total demand for power and the total capability of the network and generates an amount of the power as a product of the total demand for the power and a ratio of a maximum capability of the DER to generate the power and the total capability of the network.

  • Patent number: 9248525
Abstract: Locations in a pattern of a part are evaluated to determine if the locations are interior or exterior to a feature of the pattern. The pattern is used to cut the feature from a material by a laser cutting machine. A location in the feature is rendered into an array stored in a memory so that a value stored at an address in the array corresponding to coordinates of the location is either odd or even as determined by a counting process of the rendering. Then, the location is identified as being interior if the value is odd, and as being exterior if the value is even. The rendering can use modified forms of either rasterization or ray casting.
