  • Patent number: 9225534
Abstract: A power conditioning device includes a set of outlets through which one or more load devices are provided electricity. Each device outlet is controlled independently of the control of other device outlets. The power conditioning device includes a storage device that contains a set of controls by which the power conditioning device can be operated and programmed. The set of controls, which may be contained in a Hypertext Markup Language formatted file and retrieved by a remote device through Hypertext Transfer Protocol requests, allows such control and programming to be performed from a remote location. Additionally, the power conditioning device may be configured to log selected data and provide (such) the log, as well as selected alarms, to the remote device.

  • Patent number: 9223299
Abstract: A system and method for comparative analysis of sound data obtained from client equipment includes a portable sound detection device with a transducer to collect sounds from equipment, convert the collected sounds into analog signals, and generate digital data files including sound data representative of the collected sounds. The data files are stored in a web-based database and remote server-based program modules aggregate data associated with the data files with previously stored and related data across a plurality of predetermined data parameters. The program executes or enables identification of outlying data points with respect to data points from the sound data, and the comparison of sound data with baseline data determined the equipment type, the location and the aggregated data. The program then executes or enables identification of data points from the sound data representative of an equipment failure, or an imminent failure thereof.

  • Patent number: 9120688
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a seawater desalination plant system includes a plant unit that produces fresh water from seawater. The seawater desalination plant system predicts quality of seawater for each predetermined time (for example, 1 hour) for a certain definite period (for example, 24 hours) based on a past actual measurement value of quality of seawater; creates a plurality of proposed plans of fresh water production quantity during the definite period in each of which fresh water production quantity required for the definite period is allotted to the each predetermined time; calculates, with respect to the proposed plans, electric power consumption rates for desalination using the predicted quality of seawater, the fresh water production quantity and a previously obtained recovery rate; and obtains an optimum plan of fresh water production quantity with a minimum electric power consumption rate from the proposed plans.

  • Patent number: 9122618
Abstract: Systems, apparatus and methods for quantifying and identifying diversion of electrical energy are provided. Bypass diversion factors for consumer nodes in an inventory zone are determined by finding a solution to a system of load balance equations having slack variables representing aggregate tap loads for the inventory zone and in which consumer load profile data is scaled by the bypass diversion factors, which solution minimizes an objective function whose value is positively related to the sum of the slack variables representing the aggregate tap loads.

  • Patent number: 9108272
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a system for machine cutting several parts out of a piece of material using a beam cutting technology. The invention provides a set of controlling rules and variables for cutting two dimensional shapes or patterns. One rule or a combination of several rules are used for the cutting operation depending on the shape or pattern to be cut, the shape or pattern forming the parts out of the piece of material. The present invention specifically teaches that the set of controlling rules comprises rules for the forming of a cluster of parts with free form shapes, the parts being positioned so close to each other so that only the thickness of one cut made by the cutting beam is found between adjacent parts whenever the shape of the parts allows it.

  • Patent number: 9070726
Abstract: A temperature control method of a chemical vapor deposition device including: a chamber; a susceptor positioned on the inner side of the chamber allowing rotation therein, a wafer stacked on an upper side; a gas supplier disposed on the inner side of the chamber, and sprays gas toward the wafer; a heater disposed on the inner side of the susceptor, and heats the wafer; and a temperature sensor positioned in the chamber, and measures the temperature. The temperature control method includes: (a) calculating the temperature distribution of the susceptor based on a measured value of the temperature sensor, and dividing a section with relatively high temperature as a susceptor section and a section with relatively low temperature as a wafer section from the temperature distribution; and (b) controlling the heater by comparing a reference temperature with the temperature of a selected position of the susceptor section or the wafer section.

  • Patent number: 8977381
Abstract: A CNC controlled rotating workpiece holding fixture is attached to a tombstone of a horizontal mill. The rotating workpiece holding fixture(s) allows workpieces to be independently rotated to allow milling of various surface of the workpiece thereby providing a five axis CNC capability. As many as eight rotating workpiece holding fixtures may be attached to a single tombstone. Each rotating workpiece holding fixture may be formed by a harmonic drive driven by a servo motor which provides a compact configuration and a very low gear ratio in the harmonic drive combined with the inherent braking of the servo motor provides stability. The rotating workpiece holding fixtures may be controlled using existing auxiliary outputs (e.g., M-Codes), present in CNC milling machines. The M-Codes are preferably created by an operator, multiplexed, sent to the tombstone, de-multiplexed, and used to control each rotating workpiece holding fixture.

  • Patent number: 8958923
Abstract: A distributed power supply system is configured to execute a process for determining whether or not to permit a diagnostic process in such a manner that it is determined whether or not a difference between a set upper limit value and an actual measurement current value is not less than a load current value, the set upper limit value being a predetermined upper limit value set with respect to a detected current of a current sensor, the measurement current value being detected by the current sensor in a state where the diagnostic process is not executed, and the load current value being a value of a current flowing from a commercial power utility to a power load during execution of the diagnostic process; and if it is determined that the difference is not less than the load current value, the controller permits the diagnostic process.
