Abstract: A method of electronic communication via a virtual network function (NFV) implementation of a core network. The method comprises receiving a hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) content request from a user equipment (UE), wherein the HTTP content request comprises an identification of a content source and determining by an orchestrator service that insufficient NFV processing capacity is available to perform the HTTP content request, where the orchestrator service is an application that executes on a first physical host. The method further comprises dynamically increasing the NFV processing capacity by the orchestrator service, performing the HTTP content request using the increased NFV processing capacity, and returning a HTTP content response to the UE, wherein the HTTP content response does not comprise identification of the content source.

Abstract: A semiconductor manufacturing system according to an embodiment includes: a controller configured to control a semiconductor manufacturing apparatus; and a server configured to bidirectionally communicate with the controller via a communication line. The server includes a first processor configured to: transmit a backup file creation request (signal) that sets data specific to each controller as a backup file and transmit a backup file acquisition request (signal) requesting acquisition of the created backup file; and receive the created backup file. The memory may store one or more instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to control the electronic device to: make a packet based call with an external electronic device using the communication circuit, to obtain communication environment information of the electronic device, to determine a change in a bitrate of the packet based call based on the obtained communication environment information, to identify whether a voice is received through the sound receiving circuit, and to change the bitrate of the packet based call from a first bitrate to a second bitrate based on a silent section in which the voice is not received through the sound receiving circuit being identified.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes, by one or more computing systems, receiving, from a client system, an input in a multi-turn message thread, parsing the input to identify a plurality of hypothesis dialog states associated with the input, generating a plurality of functions corresponding to the plurality of hypothesis dialog states, calculating a plurality of probability scores for the plurality of functions, respectively, based on a prior dialog state associated with the message thread and a current user context, wherein each probability score represents a likelihood that the respective function is associated with an intended dialog state, and storing the plurality of functions if each of the probability scores is below a threshold probability score, wherein the plurality of functions is stored as a hierarchical set of functions that is used as the prior dialog state in response to a next input in the message thread.

The program also transmits the set of data objects to the computing system using the communication protocol specified in the identified data handler definition.

Abstract: A social networking system performs account recovery for a user with the help of the user's connections (e.g., friends). The social networking system selects connections of the user based on information indicating likelihood of real-world interactions between the user and the selected connections. Access codes are sent to the selected connections and the user instructed to obtain access codes from the selected connections via a communication that is outside the social networking system, for example, via phone. The user provides the access codes obtained from the selected connections to the social networking system. If the access codes provided by the user match the access codes sent to the selected connections, the user is granted access to the account. Real-world interactions between two users are determined based on sharing of devices between the users or information indicating presence of the users in the same place during same time interval.

A network device comprising hardware computing nodes may be configured to perform the techniques. The hardware computing nodes may execute a distributed operating system. At least one the hardware computing nodes may determine whether one or more of the plurality of hardware computing nodes has failed and is no longer supporting execution of the distributed operating system, and determine whether remaining ones of the plurality of hardware computing nodes exceeds a quorum threshold. The at least one of the hardware computing nodes may further restart, when the remaining ones of the plurality of hardware computing nodes is less than the quorum threshold, the distributed operating system.

Abstract: A split of radio protocols is applied within a cellular base station, between at least one virtualization platform connected through user data interfaces to Radio Transceiver Points (R-TP) serving a UE. It is provided a header for transporting a QoS information value, belonging to a set including a delay budget under 50 ms, related to at least one data packet transmitted to the given UE by a specific application. The header and the data packet are tunneled to the R-TP serving the UE. A control interface, conveying QoS requirements of the specific application, is established between a Central Controller or a Central Coordinator of the base station and the serving R-TP. The data packet is transmitted over the air to the given UE, being scheduled while considering the QoS information included within the provided header and the conveyed QoS requirements.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and systems are provided for improving utilization of the satellite communications system through various “deltacasting” techniques for handling content sets (e.g., feeds or websites). Embodiments operate in a client-server context, including a server optimizer, a client optimizer, and, in some embodiments, a pre-positioning client. Within this client-server context, content sets are multicast (e.g., anticipatorily pre-positioned in a local dictionary) to end users of the communications system and are handled at the content set level, according to set-level metadata and/or user preferences. In some embodiments, when locally stored information from the content sets is requested by a user, deltacasting techniques are used to generate fingerprints for use in identifying and exploit multicasting and/or other opportunities for increased utilization of links of the communications system.
