  • Patent number: 9451412
Abstract: A mobile device is provided. The mobile device includes a transceiver, a sensor unit, a storage device and a processor. The sensor unit detects the position and the motion of the mobile device to provide sensor data. The storage device stores activity records. The processor obtains an identification code of the base station connected to the mobile device through the transceiver and calculates the height of the mobile device according to the sensor data. When the identification code of the base station and the height of the mobile device match those in an activity record, the processor executes a predetermined function corresponding to the activity record. When the execution of the predetermined function fails, the processor generates a moving trail of the mobile device according to the sensor data. When the moving trail of the mobile device matches that in the activity record, the processor executes the predetermined function.

  • Patent number: 9451579
Abstract: An embodiment of the present application relates to the technical field of wireless communications, in particular to a positioning information determination method and device, for solving the problem of large positioning result errors in the prior art due to the fact that existing positioning methods cannot acquire the height difference between a UE and a base station. The positioning information determination method provided in the embodiment of the present invention comprises: a base station receives an uplink signal from a UE; and the base station determines the angle of arrival, beam declination angle and timing advance of the UE according to the received uplink signal. By determining the angle of arrival, beam declination angle and timing advance of a UE according to the received uplink signal, the base station determines the height difference between the UE and the base station according to the beam declination angle, thus reducing positioning result error and improving positioning precision.

  • Patent number: 9413493
Abstract: For some applications such as high-speed communication over short-reach links, the complexity and associated high latency provided by existing modulators may be unsuitable. According to an aspect, the present disclosure provides a modulator that can reduce latency for applications such as 40G/100G communication over copper cables or SMF. The modulator has a symbol mapper for mapping a bit stream into symbols, and a multi-level encoder including an inner encoder and an outer encoder for encoding only a portion of the bit stream. In some implementations, the multi-level encoder is configured such that an information block size of the inner encoder is small and matches a field size of the outer encoder. Therefore, components that would be used to accommodate larger block sizes can be omitted. The effect is that complexity and latency can be reduced. According to another aspect, the present disclosure provides a demodulator that is complementary to the modulator.

  • Patent number: 9407736
Abstract: In the subject system for remote monitoring and configuration, management of a remote physical layer device may be performed by receiving, at a local physical layer device, an incoming message of a first communication format from a controller device. The incoming message may include a request intended for the remote physical layer device that is communicatively coupled to the local physical layer device over a transmission line carrying a data channel and a supplemental channel. The incoming message may be parsed into an outgoing message of a second communication format for sending to the remote physical layer device through the supplemental channel. The local physical layer device may receive a response from the remote physical layer device through the supplemental channel. The local physical layer device may convert the response from the second communication format into the first communication format for sending the converted response back to the controller device.

  • Patent number: 9398171
Abstract: A system may receive from a mobile device, a uniform resource identifier (URI) for accessing secure content associated with a toll-free data campaign for secure content (“campaign”) from a content provider device. The system may identify traffic information included in the URI. The system may compare the traffic information with stored traffic information associated with the campaign and may determine that the traffic information is associated with the campaign if the traffic information matches the stored traffic information. The system may determine that an analysis of a transport layer socket (TLS) handshake, performed between the mobile device and the content provider device, was successful for the campaign. The system may provide information to cause data charges, for a traffic flow, to be charged to a content provider based on determining that the traffic information is associated with the campaign and that the TLS handshake analysis was successful.

  • Patent number: 9379922
Abstract: In order to generate multiple-access signals, each transmitter transmits information by using all or a part of channel resources. The signal of each transmitter is mapped to an OFDM time-frequency resource space as a trellis modulation path. A mobile communication system maps trellis modulation paths of a plurality of transmitters to the same resource space. In order to effectively detect and distinguish signals of a plurality of transmitters transmitted through the same channel resource space, a receiver uses a message passing method between symbols and a path connection method. The receiver uses a state space expansion method, a backward pre-decoding method, and a successive interference cancellation method to more efficiently reconstruct a discovery signal.
