Abstract: People at different levels of an organization can carry personal emergency response system (PERS) devices. A remote server can monitor the personal emergency response system devices, for example tracking device locations and monitoring for emergency alerts. The organization can include managers who are assigned level-specific responsibility. For example, a first manager may be responsible for a first portion of the organization, and a second manager may be responsible for a second portion of the organization. The managers may log into a website to monitor the people in their respective portions of the organization. The website can provide a manager with information that is specific to that manager's portion of the organization, as provided by the personal emergency response system devices.

  • Patent number: 9511878
Abstract: A system and method for power management aboard an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) configured to follow a subject based on images captured by an onboard camera includes a power monitor that determines if available power from the UAV's onboard batteries has dropped below predetermined thresholds. If a low power level is detected, the power management system may divert power from non-essential systems to the attitude control system to keeping the UAV aloft. If a critical power level is detected, the power management system may shut down other UAV subsystems so that the attitude control system can safely land the UAV. The power management system may send an alert to a smartphone or other device carried by the subject. Position sensors of the subject's device may be used to interpolate the position of the UAV based on the subject's own position for recovery of the UAV.

  • Patent number: 9503863
Abstract: Systems and methods including a database storing the identifiers of cells representing residential parcels of real estate properties. Mobile devices determine the coordinates of their locations during a period of time using a location determination system, such as a global positioning system. The coordinates are converted to cell identifiers to look up corresponding residential parcels that have been visited by the mobile devices. A server generates a visitation data set for each residential parcel visited by each mobile device, including different types of frequencies of the mobile device visiting the residential parcel (e.g., night, weekend). A server filters the residential parcels based on visitation frequencies to identify home candidates and then further filters the home candidates based on the count of mobile devices having the home candidates. A home parcel, and thus its address, is identified from the filtered home candidate(s) for each mobile device.

  • Patent number: 9497317
Abstract: Techniques for a personalized Bluetooth headset and a voice interaction control method thereof are described. According to one aspect of the present invention, the Bluetooth headset is configured to create and maintain a voice-based table. Each item in the table includes a phone number paired with a set of audio data (e.g., a voice or a predefined audio), where the audio data is created by a user. When a paired mobile device receives a call, the table is searched per the caller number. A corresponding audio is played back first when an item is located in the table. As such a user of the Bluetooth headset knows who is calling and determines whether the call shall be answered or not.

  • Patent number: 9473898
Abstract: An improved method of tracking an object of interest. The tracking that is enabled by the disclosed tracking engine is based on location estimation of a wireless terminal combined with aerial or satellite imagery of an object of interest, in which a relationship has been determined to exist between the wireless terminal and the object of interest. In some tracking scenarios, a wireless telecommunications network can be used to direct an image-based surveillance system where to start observing, as an object of interest heads away from a heavily populated area or other area with satisfactory wireless coverage. In some other tracking scenarios, the trajectory of the object as derived from the image data enables the tracking engine to target a specific portion of the wireless network to utilize in generating the location estimates, thereby reducing the resource utilization of the wireless network and tracking engine.
