  • Patent number: 9392455
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for handling closed subscriber groups in a relay-enhanced system are provided in the invention. The method includes: retrieving setting information relating to closed subscriber groups of a donor base station and a relay node of a relay-enhanced cellular system; acquiring a whitelist defining one or more closed subscriber groups in which a terminal is a member, the terminal requesting access to the relay-enhanced cellular system via the relay node; and verifying (i.e. checking and/or validating) a membership of the terminal for both closed subscriber groups of the donor base station and the relay node based on the retrieved setting information and the acquired whitelist. With the method and apparatus of the invention, user access control via the relay node in the relay-enhanced access networks can be improved.

  • Patent number: 9385772
Abstract: The various embodiments include methods and apparatuses for providing multiple memories on a multi-slot communication device or on a multi-slot communication device and a wireless device as a single, contiguous, combined memory. The memories may include various types of universal serial bus (USB) and/or universal integrated circuit card (UICC) memories. Ranges of physical addresses of portions of each memory may be associated with a range of virtual addresses of the combined memory. The associations of physical and virtual addresses may be stored on the multi-slot communication device. A single memory access request to the combined memory may be made using the virtual addresses, then translated into multiple memory access requests for the individual memories using the physical addresses. Providing memory access requests to a memory on the wireless device may be accomplished by connecting to the memory on the wireless device over a wireless network by the multi-slot communication device.

  • Patent number: 9386493
Abstract: The embodiments of the present invention provide a physical-layer-based handover method. The method includes: generating handover signaling, where the handover signaling carries a signaling type identifier and a destination identifier that are used for handover, and the handover signaling is an HS-SCCH order or specific HS-SCCH signaling; and sending the handover signaling to a physical layer of a mobile terminal, so that the mobile terminal executes handover according to the handover signaling to be handed over to a small cell indicated by the destination identifier. A handover method based on a network side physical layer and a mobile terminal physical layer is provided, and even if cell IDs of a macro cell and a small cell or those of small cells are the same, handover of the mobile terminal can be implemented.

  • Patent number: 9380500
Abstract: Systems and techniques for improved mobility robustness optimization. A user device experiencing a radio link failure sends a radio link failure report upon successfully connecting to a cell. The radio link failure report is routed to an appropriate cell, such as the cell where the radio link failure occurred. Radio conditions measurement information appearing in the radio link failure report is compared against each possible applicable threshold that might have been used by the user device, and a failure event is recorded for each comparison that indicates a failure, such as a radio link failure or handover failure. The failure event information is forwarded to suitable network elements for analysis and improvement of mobility robustness optimization operations.

  • Patent number: 9374693
Abstract: A cell phone with software to provide options to auto-respond to incoming text message or phone calls with a pre-stored text message or audio message. In some embodiments, the auto-response text message can be one selected by the user from among a plurality of pre-stored text messages. In other embodiments, the user can also choose an auto-response audio message to play to callers. In some embodiments, the cell system makes a determination of the speed at which cell phones in the system are moving for at least phones to which incoming text messages or phone calls are directed, and automatically determines whether or not to send an automated response message. In some embodiments, the cell phone makes a determination of its speed and asks the user if he or she wants to auto-respond to incoming texts or calls or both if moving at driving speed.
