  • Patent number: 9060365
Abstract: Techniques for efficiently decoding data at a receiver are disclosed. In one aspect, total available decoding time of the receiver is initially allocated to a plurality of code blocks of a plurality of transport blocks to obtain initial allocated decoding times for the plurality of code blocks. The initial allocated decoding time for each code block may be given by a particular number of decoding iterations to perform for that code block. One or more code blocks of one or more transport blocks are decoded. After decoding the one or more code blocks, a remaining available decoding time is determined and reallocated to undecoded code blocks of the plurality of transport blocks to obtain updated allocated decoding times for the undecoded code blocks. The remaining available decoding time may be reallocated across code blocks of a transport block, across transport blocks, across carriers, across radio access technologies, or a combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 9036644
Abstract: A method is disclosed for provisioning loop free H-VPLS traffic service in a multi-domain MPLS network having interconnected domains. The method comprises: provisioning pseudo wires (PWs) for MPTMP services in each domain of the MPLS network; defining multiple Split Horizon Groups (SHGs) in the network, wherein each SHG corresponds to a domain, for the H-VPLS service traffic and for each specific node of the MPLS network, automatically assigning indications to SHG and the pseudo wires connected to the specific node, wherein the same indication is assigned to all pseudo wires belonging to the same group (SHG-N), and wherein the step of assigning is characterized in that when traffic belonging to H-VPLS service crosses a border network node located between two interconnected domains, the SHG-N indication of PWs remains the same within a VPLS domain thereby preventing the service traffic from returning to the domain of origin.

  • Patent number: 8995321
Abstract: A method and system are provided in which a device that is operable to handle WiFi communication and WiMAX communication may receive downlink medium access protocol (MAP) information in a downlink sub-frame of a WiMAX frame and disable WiFi transmission during a portion of the downlink sub-frame based on the downlink MAP information. The disabled WiFi transmission may be enabled after data within the downlink sub-frame is decoded. The device may also receive uplink MAP information in the downlink sub-frame and may control a clear channel assessment associated with the WiFi transmission based on the uplink MAP information. The MAP information may comprise data or burst profile information and/or one or more physical control messages. A similar time domain approach may be utilized for coexistence between Win and long term evolution (LTE) coexistence, Bluetooth and WiMAX, and Bluetooth and LTE. Frame aggregation may be enabled to alleviate pending WiFi traffic.

  • Patent number: 8989020
Abstract: A network device receives, via a forwarding path, a sequence of packets, where each of the packets includes a sequence number. The network device extracts the sequence numbers from the sequence of packets, records the extracted sequence numbers, and determines a first number of packets of the sequence of packets that have been dropped on the forwarding path based on the extracted sequence numbers. The network device determines a traffic dropping ratio for the forwarding path based on the first number of the packets of the sequence of packets that have been dropped on the forwarding path.

  • Patent number: 8982750
Abstract: Techniques for transmitting overload indicators over the air to UEs in neighbor cells are described. In one design, an overload indicator may be transmitted as a phase difference between at least one synchronization signal and a reference signal for a cell. In another design, an overload indicator may be transmitted as a phase difference between consecutive transmissions of at least one synchronization signal for a cell. In yet another design, an overload indicator may be transmitted by a cell on resources reserved for transmitting the overload indicator. In yet another design, an overload indicator may be transmitted by a cell on a low reuse channel or a broadcast channel. For all designs, a UE may receive overload indicators from neighbor cells, determine the loading of each neighbor cell based on the overload indicator for that cell, and control its operation based on the loading of the neighbor cells.
