  • Patent number: 9215025
Abstract: The present invention discloses a time division duplex TDD communication method, including: reserving, by a base station, in a second subframe, acknowledgment channel resources for each subframe in a first subframe set, where acknowledgement channel resources reserved for at least two subframes in the first subframe set completely or partly overlap; and transmitting, by the base station, in the first subframe set, data with a first user equipment. By using the method of the present invention, because acknowledgement channel resources reserved for at least two subframes in the first subframe set completely or partly overlap, overheads of acknowledgment channel resources reserved for the first subframe set are small when there are a large quantity of subframes in the first subframe set.

  • Patent number: 9215263
Abstract: A first telephony device sets up a first communication channel through an Internet protocol (IP) network for conducting an IP based telephony communication with a second telephony device. The first communication channel includes one or more media relays. The first telephony device then begins to conduct the telephony communication with the second telephony device over the first communication channel. While the initial stages of the telephony communication are ongoing, the first telephony device sets up a second communication channel with the second telephony device that does not utilize media relays. The telephony communication is then switched to the second communication channel. Proceeding in this fashion ensures that a communication channel can be rapidly established between the first and second telephony devices so that the telephony communication can quickly commence.

  • Patent number: 9203776
Abstract: When a network composed of usual switches on a communication route exists, in the network, a QoS control cannot be carried out to a user. Specifically, the switch receives a packet and issues a notice to an external controller and a user authenticating section of the controller determines a QoS policy of a flow. When a plurality of networks exists on the route, a route calculating section selects a route based on the QoS policy and topology data so as to pass through an appropriate network. A flow table generating section generates a flow table which carries out queuing based on the QoS policy and a marking of a DSCP value to a DS field of a header when transmitting a packet to the selected network, and registers the flow table for the round-trip on the switch.

  • Patent number: 9204317
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method in a wireless device for reporting channel state information, CSI, for a CSI process. The CSI process corresponds to a reference signal resource and an interference measurement resource. According to the method, the wireless device obtains an adjustment value associated with the CSI process. The wireless device estimates an effective channel based on one or more reference signals received in the reference signal resource, and applies the adjustment value to the estimated effective channel, thereby obtaining an adjusted effective channel. Furthermore, the wireless device determines channel state information based on the adjusted effective channel, and on interference estimated based on the interference measurement resource. Finally, the channel state information is transmitted to a network node.

  • Patent number: 9198058
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for switching a working mode on a relay network, a base station, a relay node, and a communications system. A donor eNB (DeNB) sends an RN reconfiguration message to a relay node RN in frequency division duplex FDD mode, so that the RN switches from the FDD mode to a half-duplex frequency division duplex H-FDD mode. The DeNB receives an acknowledgment message sent by the RN in FDD mode. When the DeNB verifies, according to the RN reconfiguration message and the acknowledgement message, that the RN has already started to switch from the FDD mode to the H-FDD mode, the DeNB switches from the FDD mode to the H-FDD mode.

  • Patent number: 9178968
Abstract: Frame formatting for communications within single user, multiple user, multiple access, and/or MIMO wireless communications. A signal is processed within a communication device using at least two respective downclocking ratios (e.g., a first downclocking ratio applied to a first portion of the signal such as a frame or packet extracted there from, a second downclocking ratio applied to a second portion of the signal). Alternatively, a signal is divided into more than two respective portions, and different respective downclocking ratios are applied to those different respective portions (e.g., a first downclocking ratio applied to a first portion of the signal, and so on up to an n-th downclocking ratio applied to an n-th portion of the signal). Some implementations apply a singular or common downclocking ratio to more than one portion of the signal (which may be contiguous/adjacent or non-contiguous/non-adjacent within the signal).

  • Patent number: 9094344
Abstract: In one embodiment, a Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD) asynchronous mode session is established between two packet switching devices interconnected by one or more physical links. Prior to L2 or L3 services being established, each of these packet switching devices does not know the Media Access Control (MAC) nor Internet Protocol (IP) addresses of each interface of the other packet switching device that is connected to one of these link(s). A request to establish a BFD session is sent from one packet switching device to the other, with a MAC frame including the request being addressed to a group, broadcast, or other address that the receiving packet switching device will recognize and thus process the received request. Based on information contained in this received MAC frame, the receiving packet switching device has the information it needs, and sends a BFD control frame to the other packet switching device.
