  • Patent number: 4455713
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for separating trash from irregularly-shaped clusters of material containing trash, fiber motes, and cotton lint. The apparatus comprises a rotatable drum encircled by a screen on an inside periphery thereof. The drum contains a plurality of finger-shaped baffles arranged in rows and extending radially inwardly from the inside periphery of the drum. As material is delivered to the rotating drum, the finger-shaped baffles lift the material toward an upper portion of the drum and drop the material directly on the screen at a lower portion of the drum to break-up clusters of material and to separate the heavy trash. The heavy trash drops through the screen and is removed by a conveyor. The fiber motes and cotton lint, along with smaller trash, are retained within the rotating drum and removed at an outlet end of the drum.

  • Patent number: 4451934
Abstract: A garment and accessories formed substantially entirely of textile fabric having a series of parallel raised ribs at generally equally spaced intervals to form channels through which air may circulate and which also serves to maintain a distance when the garment is worn beneath a non-porous outergarment such as personal body armour worn by law enforcement and military personnel, asbestos clothing worn by foundry workers, rubberized garments for work and recreation, and the like. In one embodiment, the ribs are formed by stitching a fabric-enclosed fiberfill cord of substantial diameter, using a knit stitch formation which causes or allows the base fabric to enclose approximately seven eighths to three quarters of the circumference of the cord thereby eliminating any lateral shifting of the cords when the garment is worn under tension. When the wearer moves in any direction the undergarment maintains the supple, pliable and flexible properties of the base fabric which enclose the cords.

  • Patent number: 4446572
Abstract: The nursing dress includes an outer dress portion covering the torso of a woman and having a given color and design. An under dress portion, in turn, covers the torso from the inside upper front margin of the outer dress portion and extends downwardly over the top areas of the breasts to within a short distance of the nipples and is of the same color and design as the outer dress portion. This under dress portion may be detachably secured to the inside of the outer dress portion at the shoulders and side arm areas. An exposing arrangement such as zippers or buttons on the front of the outer dress portion permits an area of the outer dress portion to be removed from in front of the torso to expose the under dress portion and an uncovered area of a breast for nursing a child. Since the under dress portion has the same color and design as the outer dress portion, it blends in with the remaining front of the outer dress portion to camouflage the fact that an area of the outer dress portion has been removed.

  • Patent number: 4445233
Abstract: A sock having a pocket supported inside its leg portion. A first vertical slit opening in the sock provides access to the pocket within the sock and that opening is closed by a zipper. The pocket has a corresponding slit opening in one wall and the margins of the slit opening in the pocket are stitched along the margins of the two tracks of the zipper closure at the opposite sides of the slit opening in the sock. That is the only securement of the pocket to the sock, avoiding additional stitching or fastening of the pocket to the leg portion of the sock. The pocket is large enough and wide enough to hold needed objects.
