  • Patent number: 11876728
Abstract: Resource allocation limitations include resource limits and resource guarantees. A consumer is vulnerable to interruption by other consumers if using more resources than guaranteed. Resources are designated and/or assigned consumers based on resource limits and resource guarantees. A constraint programming (CP) solver determines resource limits and resource guarantees that minimize vulnerability and/or vulnerability cost based on resource usage data. A CP data model includes limit elements, guarantee elements, and vulnerability elements. The CP data model further includes guarantee-vulnerability constraints, which relies on exceedance distributions generated from resource usage data for the consumers. The CP data model declaratively expresses combinatorial properties of a problem in terms of constraints. CP is a form of declarative programming.

  • Patent number: 11843985
Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for enforcing limited mobility in a mobile network. For example, a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive (e.g., receive from a network) a mapping of physical cell identifications (PCIs) to area identifications (AIDs). The WTRU may determine a first PCI associated with a first neighbor cell. The WTRU may determine, based on the first PCI and the PCIs to AIDs mapping, whether the WTRU is allowed to access the first neighbor cell. The WTRU may perform cell selection or reselection with the first neighbor cell as a cell selection or reselection candidate. The WTRU may perform cell selection or reselection based on the WTRU determining that the WTRU is allowed to access the first neighbor cell. The WTRU may determine that the WTRU is allowed to access the first neighbor cell based on the first PCI and the PCIs to AIDs mapping.

  • Patent number: 11824757
Abstract: A pseudo-active/active firewall configuration handles firewall switchover events without traffic disruption. A passive firewall is set to an active state, and an active firewall is switched to a pseudo-active state wherein it continues to process ingress and egress traffic according to traffic handling protocols for its active state. An Internet protocol address binding linking the now pseudo-active firewall to an Internet gateway that forwards traffic to the firewalls is updated in a network address translation (NAT) table to route traffic to the newly active firewall. Once a pseudo-active timer expires and the binding is successfully updated to route traffic to the newly active firewall, the pseudo-active firewall is set to a passive state.

  • Patent number: 11825312
Abstract: This disclosure provides a method for calculating the installation number and installation positions of wireless base stations in accordance with the positions of wireless terminal stations within an installation area. First, when a predetermined number of wireless base stations are temporarily installed within the installation area, a wireless base station accommodating each wireless terminal station in a communication area is determined and the number of wireless base stations accommodating each wireless terminal station is calculated as a “number of conflicts”. Next, wireless base stations successively accommodating starting with an un-accommodated wireless terminal station of a small number of conflicts are successively selected as objects of installation. Then, the installation number and installation positions of the wireless base stations are calculated, with the temporarily installed wireless base stations other than the wireless base stations serving as the objects of installation being excluded.
