Abstract: In one embodiment, a parasitic capacitance compensation circuit for a switch is disclosed that includes a first inductor operably coupled between a first terminal and a second terminal, and a second inductor operably coupled between the first and second terminals and parallel to the first inductor. The second inductor is switched in when a peak voltage on the first and second terminals falls below a first voltage. The first inductance tunes out substantially all of a parasitic capacitance of the switch when the switch is OFF and the peak voltage is above the first voltage. The first and second inductances collectively tune out substantially all of the parasitic capacitance of the switch when the switch is OFF and the peak voltage is below the first voltage.

Abstract: A vehicle air conditioner includes an air-heating switching portion that switches between a first air-heating mode of heating ventilation air by a heating heat exchanger and a second air-heating mode of heating the ventilation air by a condenser. The vehicle air conditioner includes a heat-exchange adjustment portion that adjusts an amount of heat exchange between the high-pressure refrigerant and the ventilation air in the condenser, and a heat-exchange control unit that controls the heat-exchange adjustment portion.
Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system for verifying the identity of a user in an identity authentication and biometric verification system which includes collecting information from the user regarding the user's identity, which is then electronically authenticated. Upon authentication, personal information regarding the verified identity of the user is retrieved from a source database which is used to verify the identity of the user, via user interaction. Upon successful verification and authentication, biometric data regarding the user is electronically collected.
Abstract: The stackable shelf system for charging electrical devices is a furniture item. The stackable shelf system for charging electrical devices comprises a bracket, a plurality of shelves, and a power distribution circuit. The bracket provides vertical support for the plurality of shelves. The plurality of shelves forms a plurality of horizontal surfaces, which support and store one or more electrically powered devices. The power distribution circuit provides an ac port and a dc port to each shelf contained within the plurality of shelves. Each ac port and each dc port provide a source of electrical power for use by the one or more electrically powered devices. The power distribution circuit further comprises a daisy chain link that allows multiple instantiations of the stackable shelf system for charging electrical devices to be connected to an external power source using a single electrical connection.
Abstract: A downhole completion system includes an intermediate casing, an outer production casing arranged at least partly within the intermediate casing, a main barrier to seal between the intermediate casing and the outer production casing, and an inner production casing arranged at least partly within the outer production casing. The outer production casing has a first outer inductive coupling arranged below the main barrier, and a first inner inductive coupling is arranged on an outer face of the inner production casing for wireless transfer of communication signals and/or power therebetween. The first inner inductive coupling is connected to the top of the borehole via a first electrical conductor, and a second outer inductive coupling is arranged on an outer face of the outer production casing and connected with the first outer inductive coupling via a second electrical conductor.
Abstract: A forceps includes at least one shaft and a housing defining a cavity. An end effector assembly is attached to the shaft(s) and includes first and second jaw members movable relative to one another from a spaced apart position to a closer position. A knife channel defined within the jaw members is configured to receive a knife. A trigger assembly is disposed within the cavity and includes a trigger having a first link pivotably coupled at one end to the trigger and slidingly engaged to a second link at the other end. The second link includes a first end telescopically slideable relative to the first link upon actuation of the trigger through a range of motion and a second end pivotably coupled to a third link which, in turn, couples to the knife. Actuation of the trigger translates the knife through the knife channel.
Abstract: A linkage (100, 200) having a plurality of small angle links (114, 116; 208, 212) with axes of rotation directed to a single point to allow movement of an recipient object without moving the point of action of an applied force (F).
Abstract: A server for providing a city street search service includes a street information database configured to store city street images, a feature selection unit configured to select at least one feature according to a predetermined criterion when a city street image for searching and two or more features for the image are received from a user terminal, a candidate extraction unit configured to extract a candidate list of a city street image, a feature matching unit configured to match the city street image for registration included in the extracted candidate list and the at least one selected feature, and a search result provision unit configured to provide the user terminal with a result of the matching as result information regarding the city street image for searching.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide preparation methods for a semiconductor layer and a TFT, a TFT and an array substrate. The preparation method for a semiconductor layer includes forming a silicon dioxide film on a substrate; forming sidewalls at two ends of the semiconductor layer to be formed by patterning process; performing amination treatment on the sidewalls so that an aminosiloxane monolayer self-assembly is formed on the surface of the sidewalls; carboxylating a carbon nanotube solution and making the carboxylated carbon nanotube solution on the surface of the substrate with the sidewalls formed to form a carbon nanotube film; removing portions of the carbon nanotube film other than the portion between the sidewalls to form a semiconductor layer.
Abstract: A speckle damping system for dampening speckle on a projection screen for a projection display system employing coherent or partially coherent light sources (e.g., lasers, LEDs) are disclosed. In one embodiment, a rotatably coupled system is disclosed, comprising: a set of actuators; a set of rotatably coupled mounts, each of said set of rotatably coupled mount capable of mounting at least one said actuator; and wherein said at least one actuator mounted on said rotatably coupled mount is in moveable mechanical communication with said projection screen. In another embodiment, a linearly coupled system is disclosed comprising: a set of actuators; a set of linearly coupled mounts, each of said set of linearly coupled mount capable of mounting at least one said actuator; and wherein said at least one actuator mounted on said linearly coupled mount is in moveable mechanical communication with said projection screen.
Abstract: For each of consumers, a connection control apparatus is provided that includes an opening/closing device capable of connecting or disconnecting an electric power system and a consumer, that, when a power outage occurs in the electric power system, disconnects the electric power system and the consumer from each other by the opening/closing device at a command from an outage management apparatus or the like, and that connects the electric power system and the consumer to each other by the opening/closing device upon receiving a command from the outage management apparatus or the like at the time of restoration from the power outage. A power supply control apparatus supplies electric power from energy provision equipment to electrical appliances during a power outage in the electric power system.
Abstract: A system for controlling the temperature in at least one room is provided.
