Abstract: A method for manufacturing a structure from a granular material, called sand, in particular a mold. A layer of sand is deposited. The layer of sand is selectively agglomerated by spraying, using a spray nozzle, an inorganic binder having an M2SiO3 type (meta)silicate dissolved in a solvent. Prior to the spraying, the inorganic binder is heated to a temperature to confer on it a viscosity less than 0.2 Pa·s. A device for implementing the method is provided.

Abstract: Elements for hand printing designs and patterns include cone pin blocks, flat pin blocks, and multisided sequence stamps. A cone pin block generally has a circular cross-section and is rolled in order to make symmetrical, circular or partial-circle designs. Flat pin blocks have a flat surface. The pin blocks have pins extending out of the cone surface or the flat surface. Flexible inking cord material is threaded between the pins in a chosen pattern. The inking material collects liquid ink by absorption or surface adhesion, which is transferred to a base by rolling or stamping. Multisided sequence stamps include left and right handles and multisided blocks disposed between the two handles. The blocks have relief designs on their peripheral side surfaces, either formed directly on the surface of the blocks or formed on rings that slide over the blocks. The blocks (and pattern rings if used) are many sided (e.g. hexagonal) with different embossed designs on different sides.
Abstract: A method for forming a composite tread, the method comprising the steps of forming a coextruded strip of a first compound and a second compound, wherein the first compound is a tread compound, and the second compound is formed from a high-wear compound, wherein the tread is formed from winding the coextruded strip onto the tire building drum while varying the ratio of the first compound to the second compound.

Abstract: Vehicle control apparatus and vehicle control method are described. The vehicle control apparatus may include a compressor and a controller. The controller may determine a thermal load level at one or more of: a first time point at which an engine is switched to an ON state from an OFF state, a second time point at which a first discharge amount of the battery exceeds a first reference value while the engine is in the OFF state, or a third time point at which a second discharge amount of the battery exceeds a second reference value smaller than the first reference value and a discharge rate associated with the battery exceeds a third reference value while the engine is in the OFF state. The controller may control the compressor using a control value corresponding to the thermal load level.

Abstract: A motor vehicle has a pressure relief device that can be thermally activated, for the pressure relief of at least one pressure vessel. A body floor element is arranged at least partially between the passenger compartment or the cargo area and the pressure vessel. A pressure relief triggering device is designed to directly or indirectly bring about the pressure relief. The pressure relief triggering device is designed to absorb thermal energy from the passenger compartment or the cargo area in order to trigger the pressure relief device, without the thermal energy absorbed for the triggering having previously been transmitted to the pressure relief triggering device through the body floor element.

Abstract: A method is described for producing a pneumococcal capsular polysaccharide protein conjugate in which one or more activated pneumococcal polysaccharides of particular pneumococcal serotypes and carrier protein are separately lyophilized, the separately lyophilized polysaccharides and carrier protein are separately reconstituted in an organic solvent, and the reconstituted polysaccharide and carrier protein are then combined together by Tee-mixing and conjugated together to produce polysaccharide carrier protein conjugates. A plurality of conjugates, each comprising polysaccharides of a particular serotype, may be used to produce multivalent pneumococcal immunogenic compositions having a combination of conjugates for use in vaccines.

Abstract: The invention relates to bacterial infections, vaccines directed against those infections and bacterial vaccines. More particularly, the invention relates to vaccines directed against Streptococcus infections in pigs. The invention provides a ?FolT mutant of a bacterium having reduced capacity to transport folate, wherein said capacity has been reduced by functionally deleting folate transporter (FolT) function. The invention also provides a method to reduce virulence of a bacterium comprising reducing the capacity of said bacterium to transport folate.

Abstract: The arrangement for introducing a desired quantity of decontamination agent into a containment facility comprises a tank as a storage vessel for storing the decontamination agent in liquid form. A metering apparatus having a spray nozzle is directed into the containment facility so as to atomize the decontamination agent. At least one feed line from the ambient air, a compressed air connection and a control unit are provided to operate the metering apparatus. The metering apparatus has a metering container that comprises a storage chamber that has a defined volume for receiving an individual portion of decontamination agent. The storage chamber is provided so as to successively receive a number (n) of portions of decontamination agent from the tank, and the portion respectively held in the storage chamber is introduced by means of the spray nozzle into the containment facility prior to receiving a subsequent portion.
