In one embodiment, for example, a computer graphical user interface comprises an application topology map of an application deployed on a plurality of a hosts in a hosted computing environment, the application topology map comprising a plurality of nodes and edges there between, the plurality of nodes representing a plurality of identified application components of the application, the edges representing identified logical dependencies between the plurality of application components.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for servicing media content. In one embodiment, the media content is processed by having each of a group of services process increments of the media content, one increment at a time; and the order in which the services process these increments is orchestrated to process all of the media content in accordance with a defined procedure. In one embodiment, the increments of the media content are passed, one increment after another, to at least a plurality of the services in a defined order. In an embodiment, each time one of the plurality of services passes one of the increments of the media content to a subsequent one of the services in the defined order, the one of the plurality of services requests another increment of the media content from a preceding one of the services in the defined order.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a group messaging system for providing file sharing through bidirectional interlock with a cloud server, including: a messenger server receiving information requesting creation of a group chatting room including group members and instructing user terminals of the respective group members to create the group chatting room; and a cloud server interlocking with the messenger server, receiving information about the creation of the group chatting room from the messenger server, and creating a sharing group mapped to the group chatting room in a one-to-one scheme.

Abstract: Responsive to middleware for a domain processing a transaction instance at a processing point specified in transaction telemetry standards as a tracking point along a flow of the transaction instance from a requesting domain to a requestee domain, a facility of the middleware determines whether a token with correlation data comprising a unique identifier for the transaction instance available to both the requesting domain and the requestee domain is passed to the domain in compliance with transaction telemetry standards. Responsive to the facility of the middleware not detecting the token with correlation data, the token with generated correlation data accessible to the domain is generated. The facility of the middleware passes the token to at least one subsequent middleware instance of the plurality of middleware instances of the composite application along the flow of the transaction instance to uniquely identify the transaction instance.

Abstract: An event aware video system (EAVS) is to capture video frames during a first time period and process event portion of the video frames before transferring the processed data to a central computing system. The EAVS may establish a present no-event frame from the video frames, wherein a last frame of the video frames is marked as the present no-event frame if the difference between adjacent pair of frames of the video frames is less than a threshold value. The EAVS may establish an event frame, wherein a present frame captured after establishing the no-event frame is marked as the event frame if the difference between the present frame and a previous frame captured prior to the present frame is greater than the threshold value. The EAVS may generate the processed data by processing the event of the event frame.

Abstract: A system facilitates the procurement of one or more document services for a document directly from a document preparation software application used to create the document. The system activates a graphical user interface within the document preparation software application, contacts a server to identify available document services, and configures the graphical user interface based on the available document services. The system detects selection of one of the available document services and provides the document from the document preparation software application to one or more service providers for performance of the selected document service.

Abstract: An influence metric describing the influence of a social networking system object on social networking system users is determined based on affinities between the users and the object. For example, affinities between the associated users and the object are combined to determine the influence metric. Content may be selected for presentation to users based in part on influence metrics of the content. Additionally, influence metrics of objects associated with a user may be combined to determine the relevance of objects associated with the user, which may also be used to select content for presentation to the user.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to providing an indication of unseen email messages to a mobile device user, to establishing an unseen email message count and to maintaining a consistent unseen email message count across multiple mobile devices. In one scenario, a computer system receives subscription data that subscribes a user to email push notifications. The subscription data includes a token ID and a timestamp. The computer system determines that a new email message has arrived at the user's inbox and accesses the user's email inbox to determine the number of unseen email messages (which includes the number of email messages that have been received at the user's inbox and have not been viewed or marked as read using another email client since the time listed on the timestamp). The computer system also sends a push notification with the number of unseen email messages to each of the user's subscribed mobile devices.

Each of the node devices is connected with the other node devices by a first network and a second network, and includes: a first node managing unit configured to operate on an operating system embedded in an own device and detect operation statuses of the other node devices via the first network; a second node managing unit configured to operate without being affected by the operating system and detect operation statuses of the other node devices via the second network; and a node status judging unit configured to judge whether each of the node devices is in a down state according to a preset standard, based on results of the detection of the other node devices by the first node managing unit and the second node managing unit.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for minimizing workload migrations during cloud maintenance operations. Upon receiving an indication that a scheduled maintenance operation is to be performed, a cloud controller uploads the maintenance binaries associated with the scheduled maintenance operation and analyzes the maintenance binaries so as to evaluate the requirements of the maintenance packages and dependencies associated with the scheduled maintenance operation. A matrix is then generated by the cloud controller to identify the classes of hardware that will be disrupted by the scheduled maintenance operation based on the analysis. The workloads running on the classes of hardware identified in the matrix will then be consolidated prior to the scheduled maintenance operation. By consolidating the workloads onto a fewer number of hardware components, a fewer number of workload migrations will need to be performed during the cloud maintenance operation.

Abstract: A load-balancing cluster includes a switch having a plurality of ports; and a plurality of servers connected to at least some of the plurality of ports of the switch. Each server is addressable by the same virtual Internet Protocol (VIP) address. Each server in the cluster has a mechanism constructed and adapted to respond to connection requests at the VIP by selecting one of the plurality of servers to handle that connection, wherein the selecting is based, at least in part, on a given function of information used to request the connection; and a firewall mechanism constructed and adapted to accept all requests for the VIP address for a particular connection only on the server that has been selected to handle that particular connection. The selected server determines whether it is responsible for the request and may hand it off to another cluster member.

Abstract: Statistics of a distributed computing system are managed to identify and/or provide percentile data associated with the managed statistics. In some examples, percentiles associated with performance data of the computing system may be calculated. Based at least in part on a factor associated with the performance data, one or more of the calculated percentiles may be selected. Additionally, in some examples, graph data for at least a portion of the selected percentiles may be provided.

Abstract: Provided are methods and computer program products for analyzing and tracing the contents of network traffic in a network device and to help identify network performance issues. Methods for analyzing traffic include identifying thread identifiers associated with transactions, determining related events, and associating similar transactions and events into an aggregated list of transactions. Methods of tracing transactions include identifying thread identifiers associated with transactions and related events and serializing events into a serialized list of events to facilitate tracing single transactions.

Abstract: A network switching system includes a storage device including a plurality of application-provided flow-based rules provided by a plurality of applications. A packet processor is coupled to the storage device and includes a flow-based handler that is operable to receive a packet, determine that the packet is associated with a flow session, and associate a plurality of the application-provided flow-based rules with the packet based the association of the packet with the flow session. The packet processor also includes a flow-based rule processing engine that is operable to determine a priority for the plurality of application-provided flow-based rules and apply at least one of the plurality of application-provided flow-based rules to the packet according to the priority. The system allows a plurality of SDN applications to operate in a network switching system independently and without knowledge of each other.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes, for each of a plurality of channels at a well site, converting channel data from a source data format to a common data format in real-time as the channel data is generated. The common data format includes a plurality of elements organized into a plurality of sets. Each element includes a minimum collection of fields. The method further includes, for each of the plurality of channels, storing the converted channel data in a data store as part of the at least one element.

Abstract: In a system that provides network-based computer infrastructure services, a monitoring agent is installed on a computer to gather and report operational metrics from various sources, which may include infrastructure support services as well as elements of the computer itself. Metrics to be gathered and reported by the monitoring agent, as well as the format in which metrics are to be reported, are specified declaratively so that they can be changed without altering the procedural aspects of the monitoring agent.
